I won't post what I first thought, because I looked it up to see if I was right, and I was.

Mount McKinley. Thanks geography class I took freshman year!

It is now called Denali. Several years ago when I visited the park, everybody referred to the mountain as "Denali" already.
I don't think I heard anybody refer to it as "McKinley" the whole time I was there.

Without answering are we limiting it to just the lower 48?

I've always called it McKinley as well and didn't know it was renamed Denali until checking to see if I was right.

I think most of us were taught McKinley. One of the former Presidents (I think Wilson) formally recognized it as McKinley even though all the locals referred to it as Denali in the early 1900s and it stuck.
In people collectively losing their shite over Obama officially "naming it", apparently it's something that the locals have been fighting to happen but actually got blocked by an Ohio congressman in the 70s.

If you wanna get super technical, it's not McKinley/Denali...
Mauna Kea in Hawaii...
much of the mountain is under water; when measured from its oceanic base, Mauna Kea is over 10,000 m (33,000 ft) tall—significantly taller than Mount Everest.

It used to be Mt. McKinley

It's Denali. ALways been Denali. Alaska Board of Geographic names never recognized McKinley.

When I went to Alaska last year, most people still called it McKinley.
