It's in Utah, I doubt there would've been a lot of backlash.

Does beg the question though of why it's okay to have black or American Indian heritage celebrations, but if you have a caucasian heritage celebration it's labeled 'racist'.

White people can't claim any type of common heritage, even if it is very self-deprecating. The outrage parrots have zero sense of humor and all start squawking on cue.
A similar "Hispanic Heritage" type event, which most teams have, would be dead serious, carefully respectful of Latino heritage and basically suck off any and all achievements of Latinos.
Whites can't even poke fun at themselves without Leftists erupting into self-righteousness signaling contests, because Leftists deeply hate white people and western culture.
