Just went back and watched the full series of Californication. It is a fantastic series if you can handle the really fricked up shite.

I am not sure I can.

This is not my first Netflix report.

House of Cards and Breaking Bad were in my first un-official report

Ahh well then I retract my statement

Second on "Bloodlines." Starts kinda slow. Really well done, IMO.

Other suggestions:
Documentary: "Restrepo"
Series: "The Fall" BBC series. Just two seasons of 10 or so episodes each. Crime drama.

Maybe I'll start numbering my Netflix reports.

But there's still a LOT I haven't seen and probably need to. So do not hesitate to give me your recommendations. If I've seen it already, I refuse to be offended.

BTW, I've seen some decent documentaries on Netflix. The wiff and I are working our way through (and are almost done with) Ken Burns' Civil War. We will then pick another Burns documentary series and work through it.

Another outstanding documentary I recently watched on Netflix is K2: Siren of the Himalayas. I will never do any mountaineering, but I love watching stuff on it, and this show documents a 2009 (failed) attempt to summit this beeyotch.

Good stuff.

Agreed. I'm finishing it up now and it's really getting going.

I have my doubts about this one. Strikes me as a vehicle for liberal bull shite.

I am more than willing to stand corrected, though, as I have never watched a single episode.

I've had Netflix for a while...the last few months I've been more of an Amazon Prime watcher for some reason.

Give the West Wing a shot. Yeah, it portrays a liberal President and White House but it's done in a fairly even handed way. Regardless of the politics, it's a good show that I go back to every now and then.

Foyle's War is one of my favorites. If you like chase scenes and police shoot outs this is not a show for you.

quote:

Foyle's War has been described by The Wall Street Journal as "a triumph from start to finish." Set along the South Coast of England in the 1940s, Foyle's War stars Michael Kitchen as Christopher Foyle, the straightforward sleuth who fights his own battles on the home front while war rages across Europe — that is, until now.

If Ken Burns Baseball is on Netflix I highly recommend it

I just signed up to Hulu plus recently. I've enjoyed watching that so far. It does play two or three commercials per show, which isn't that bad. The problem is, they're the same fricking commercials. But it had most tv shows, that are recent enough that I won't feel the urge to torrent shows (and I have memberships to some damn good private 0-day trackers).

I need to watch the documentary about the pitcher who threw a no hitter on lsd. That is one of my favorite baseball stories.

The Killing. My wife got way ahead of me while I was wasting time on crappy sci-fi offerings. We're on Season 4. Good show. It's a Netflix production (before this I didn't know there was such a thing) so you probably haven't heard of it. I'll probably watch the first 3 seasons in the next two nights and be a zombie at work.

Far and away my favorite series since I became a Netflix junky is Vikings. Ragnar Lodbruk kicks arse. So does wife 1. So does his son.

I'll probably watch Deadwood on a continuous loop after catching up with The Killing.

Thanks for the tip on Daredevil - I had stayed away thinking "Ben Affleck".
