5 years old? How does a five year old make a decision that she's transgender in the first place?

quote:

"Kimberly Shappley -- mom of soon-to-be kindergartner, Kai Shappley -- said her fight against the school district started in May. The district allows students to use gender-neutral bathrooms, found in some areas of the school, but the mom says that isn't enough. (??? ummm... Why not?)

The district's superintendent, Dr. John Kelly, (very proud of you John Kelly!) said in a statement "What's next? Legalizing pedophilia and polygamy?" he said. "Unless we return to the Biblical basis on which our nation’s laws were established, we are in serious trouble – and cannot expect God’s continued favor

Five damn years old. And thinking about transgender rights instead of being a kid.

Whatever happened to majority rule and minority rights? Using gender neutral bathrooms is more than enough "rights".

The minority groups in this country are trying to change the majority and their right to make laws in the way they choose.

Five damn years old. And her parents either forcing her or allowing a stupid 5 year old kid live out make believe too long.

Wonder if her mom's a transgender activist in her personal life. Usually is the case in these situations.

One agenda pushing against another agenda. I agree with him pushing back though and not giving in to this ridiculous mother.

What's wrong with a Christian having an "agenda" (beliefs) and using it to combat situations like transgender toddlers? Everybody's opinion came from somewhere, yours isn't based on nothing either. I could call whatever yours is based on your "agenda".

Is he the superintendent of a public school district receiving state and federal tax dollars? Then he probably needs to leave any religious agenda out of his dealings with the district.

That all said, there's no reason the situation they currently have with optional gender-neutral bathrooms shouldn't suffice. We have a similar set up at a school in our district and it's gone pretty smoothly.

I've been saying this for a while now but I think it's long since time to start including religion in our dealings with public school districts.

Or you can just send your child to a private school that is geared towards your religious beliefs.

Sometimes people need things whether they like it or not. My kids don't like cough medicine. Heathens don't like Christian beliefs. It doesn't mean they don't need to swallow them and feel better.

jmo.

I'm reroofing small cabins today with a group from our church. It's a lead up to our youth group going to something called World Changers.
