I think definitions need to be set. If you're talking a true agricultural "country" I'd suppose the coastal plains of south Ga are right up there along with the Delta regions. If you're talking hillbilly country then you'd look elsewhere. Big difference between country rednecks and hillbillies.

Of course as mentioned metro ATL in and of itself makes Ga a hard sale.

Agriculturally speaking, the delta of MS, LA, and AR is huge and is the major producing region of soybeans, cotton, rice, and sugar in the U.S. Not to mention the biggest producer of farm raised catfish.

Hillbillies are only found in pockets of north Arkansas and in the southern Appalachians.

When I say country I mean cows in the pasture, horses, vegetation fields, and the nearest Walmart is almost a hour away etc. West Texas is the most isolated and sparsely populated area of the state. Once you get west of Killeen or Waco Tx its 100s on top of 100s miles of country

You can find rednecks in Texas as far west as i35. Once you get way out west when the terrain changes to desert by Fort Stockton, Texas you start to see hicks. the women in west Texas are so easy and approachable. I love all Texas women but west Texas women are really easy

I love my state. We're the largest state east of the Mississippi and contain 5 unique geographical areas (coastal plain, piedmont, Appalchian plateau, valley and ridge, and the Blue Ridge Mountains). There are some exceptionally "country" areas, particularly the entire southern half below the "fall line" and my own little postage stamp of native soil in the beautiful Northeast Georgia Mountains. But ...

... there ain't nothing as country as middle-to-north Lousisana - we'll say everything north of Alexandria - through to the Ozarks. People used to rag on us up here because of Deliverance ... shite, I've never seen anything as close to that as North LA to the Ozarks.

Georgia is the top cotton, peanut, pecan, and poultry producing state in the US - along with a bunch of kinds of produce. It's the leading timber producing state in the southeastern US also.

It depends on what you man by "Country". Are we talking good country people, farmers, rednecks?

Mississippi. Oxford feels like a small town. I like it though. Wish I could get a Neon Pig at home.

Missouri is #6 in cattle production with 4 million head

#6 in soybean production

#7 in pork

#10 in corn

I'll put our Whitetail and Turkey hunting up against anywhere in the country.
