This just keeps getting better and better. Mizzou is a total shite show.

When does the witch hunt end at Mizzou?

Please, get them the frick outta the SEC.

Beloved prof drummed out of Mizzou after refusing to cancel exam

Some of the tweets following him being forced-out are worth reading. This is not going well for Mizzou.

quote:

“If you don’t feel safe coming to class, then don’t come to class,” Dr. Brigham told his students. “I will be there, and there will be an exam administered in our class.”

For those that can read, that actually want the full story ... this is just unbelievable. If Mizzou donors and boosters allow this shite to happen ... then frick'em.

We might leave when South Carolina finally beats Mizzou in football again.

I hope all donations and corporate sponsorships for Mizzou stop. Let the SJWs have a 20% tuition hike to cover it.....and the extra UPD officers that they're going to have to hire to investigate all of the Feelings Violations.

It'll die down soon, because it's gotten so ridiculous only the super liberal types still think these actions are justified.

There's a lesson to administrators, nip this shite in the bud before you have a full blown shite storm of angry entitled white kids and the professors who enable their entitledness.

To the protesters, you're not saving the world you're acting an arse. You can't go crazy over every little thing, else no one will believe you when something is actually worth protesting.

Apparently Mizzou declined to accept his resignation.

I mean, I get that you can literally say "No, we don't accept" but doesn't he still get to resign?

If I was a professor, I'd get out of there as soon as I could too.

No need to damage your reputation.

He can literally say "that's fine, but I won't be coming back."

If he's vested in retirement package and has tenure, they can't do too much, and he may have 'F U' money. If so, he can just take off and nothing they'll do.

I think mass faculty should just walk off the job and refuse to teach those lemmings.

That would be funny were it not true.

I think it's a sign of desperation on MU's part, hoping he will take some time to reflect and possibly have a change of heart.

Yes, the University does not "own" him, they can't stop him from resigning. Turning in a letter of resignation is not contingent on anyone accepting it, however sometimes there is a contractual obligation that may come into play but I believe he is a tenured professor so he will be in good shape either way.

Missouri is now officially an extension of UC-Berkeley.

He refused to cancel his class when someone threatened to show up to the campus and start shooting people.

How many school shootings have we had in the past 5 years alone? I get standing up to terrorist, but if Muslim extremist claim they will hi-jack a plane I've got a ticket to, I'm not calling their bluff on it, I'm taking a different flight.

Is the fact that he's white a big reason he caught so much crap? Of course. The shooter didn't say he was going to shoot white people. When you are the stated target of a terrorist, it is different.

If he was refusing to cancel class because of the protest and this happened, I would be upset at how stupid people are. But this was because someone threatened to shoot others. He has to have a little more empathy than he did. I don't think he had ill intentions over it, and obviously he did not take the threat serious, but in this day how can you not? What would have happened if the shooter had actually followed through? What would be the backlash of a professor refusing to cancel an exam when there was a school shooting?

We know it's a hoax now and we can slam those who jumped his shite. But too many people get shot at school to take any of these threats lightly.

If we're going to play it that way, a few phone calls could completely shut down the entire educational system.

Ideally those that make false claims get very harsh punishments.

Don't get me wrong, if someone makes a broad claim, the whole world doesn't need to be shut down. But when it is exact and direct, actions should be taken.

If a man claimed he was going to shoot up your child's primary school, are you still putting him on the bus or are you keeping him home? If that turned out to be a hoax, will you ignore it if ot happens again a few years later?/

The threats were known to be not credible last night. Why should he have cancelled his class for a non-credible threat?

And he had allowed any student who wanted to skip class to take the test at a later date with no loss of points. Too reasonable, really.

For that, he's called a racist count and any other number of epithets. frick you for making excuses for those people.

They were real threats in that someone made them. They weren't real threats as none of the people who made them had the means to carry them out.

You are proof that there is hope for Mizzou.
