I refuse to click articles about it and couldn't figure out what happened on this site. All I ever see is:

Football team joined protest
I just read the ENTIRE usatoday article in my hotel and nothing explains what happened. I've seen people on sec rant asking for a summary and one of the above bulletpoints is mentioned.
I know all the effects and team involvement. But what actually happened?

Be glad I'm not clicking any articles. I refuse to let this be a story. Still, usatoday article mentions NOTHING. It's fascinating that all they cover is the football team making the president resign angle.

Basically, an incident where some people were called derogatory terms and a swastika made out of shite has turned into the protestors calling out the Mizzou leadership for institutional racism. How any rational person can believe that, I'm not sure I will ever know.
I wonder if Pinkel will stand by his players who are journalism majors and had their 1st amendment rights infringed by these idiots? I would guess no...

The answer is pretty much nothing. Here is my timeline.
Blacks oppose racism (for all time). Request meeting with Loftin, get it, are happy, but not with the fact that racism still exists. Decide to move up the ladder because they still unhappy about racism.
Same timeline, Loftin sucks at his job, in regards to faculty and grad students. But undergrads love him, because he has a stache and takes pictures.
Tim Wolfe, doesn't respond to requests, because his job probably doesn't have time for singular student groups. Students blame wolfe for not responding, making him a psuedo racist.
Jonathan Butler decides to hunger strike because wolfe didn't meet with him. Same Butler, whose family is worth $20M. Proposes racist policies about hiring and providing resources for blacks.
Tim Wolfe shrugs them off, because they are impossible demands, including apologizing for "white privilege"
Black group stops his car at the homecoming parade (homecoming is huge.) Group yell at him. Definitely caught off guard.
Media attention. Wolfe tries to address the concerns, but at that point, they were out for Blood. Makes some changes, but black group isn't satisfied.
Black group gets football team involved. Football strike.
Wolfe resigns to help save face, and Loftin is basically fired.
That is about it.

Oh and Clay Travis says he's discovered that the hunger striker guy's family is worth $20 million, and over on the main Rant they've at minimum verified that his dad is an Executive VP at Union Pacific....so his family certainly wasn't starving (pun intended).

typically at most there would only be a couple of Jschool majors on the team at any one time.
Listen to his interview, Pinkel "hasn't given much thought to" the journalism aspect. It's what he says, he thinks he "did the right thing to stand by his players", and he doesn't seem to accept that his actions helped get Wolfe fired.
I think this is Kietzman interviewing him(not positive on that) and when pressed about the 1st amendment aspect of the protest, Pinkel says:
"Too complex for me" and "I don't have an opinion on that"... "I don't like the scenario" and "I haven't given much thought to it".

The students acted before consulting with the staff and came o him after. What was he supposed to do? His number one priority is that football program. If he told them to "get fricked" he would have lost the locker room, a divided locker room. It would have hurt Missouri recruiting for years and years and would have been a dagger in the heart of the program.

This is the third time in a row I have engaged you with you dropping some little twit response.
What should pinkel have done differently post hoc to the team going on strike that wouldnt have ruined the program and this current locker room? He did what was best for the program given the situation. You can tell he hates every minute of this bullshite.
