So most of the results are based on surveys taken by Millenials? Seems legit.

isn't every new generation the "worst generation ever"?

Seems that way.

Do you know how surveys work? Serious question.

Yes I know how they work.
If you just survey Millennials then the results will be skewed.

Let me clarify

This question isn't legit.
quote:

Millennials are more competitive than we give them credit. 59% said competition is “what gets them up in the morning,” compared with 50% of baby-boomers. Hardly the generation of slackers they’re cut out to be,69% of millennials see themselves in managerial roles in 10 years.

worst generation: baby boomers or their parents. People don't want to talk about it, but there was a parenting catastrophe after WW2. Look at all the evil the baby boomers grew into.

You obviously didn't read the article, then. They didn't just survey millenials. That was kind of the basis for the author's conclusions.

Who isn't gonna say they're competitive? Is your self evaluation accurate? Most of the time people's self evals are not reality.

This is not a good indication of baby-boomers competitiveness. Of course they are not going to be as competitive as they were when they were younger.

A lot of people see themselves in managerial roles but are they management material? I know a lot of people who think they should be the boss but are not qualified.

It's just a bad question for a survey.

Apparently, baby boomers moreso than millenials?

The statement in the article was highlighting the fact that millenials by and large are much more competitive than their stereotype. You understand that, correct?

This is neither here nor there. You want driven competitive people who believe they are management material, not loafers/slackers. The data shows that the former are what millenials tend to be. You don't want a bunch of folks who just accept that they aren't management ready. You want people who work hard and educate themselves to go get it.

Your evaluation of it was bad.

Also, at you for intimating that millenials were the ones taking the survey and skewing the results.

Their idea of competition is Halo and Call of Duty tournaments.

And your elders said equitable drivel about your generation's competitive drive.

They were mistaken. As are you

Hell, as my peers likely will be when we get to your age, if the trend holds

I aim to not participate in the mindless bash-fest, though. It's silly.

Uh yeah. Like I said, most people are more competitive when they are in their 20s then their 60s. Age difference was not taken into account with that question.

Based on data provided by Millennials.
If 100 people are asked the question "are they good in bed?", how many will say they are?

One's perception is not always reality.

quote:

Where is this data? The data from the survey is shite.

At this stage in life, why would anyone be surprised that millenials say they're more driven by competition than baby boomers?

The YOUNGEST babyboomers are now in their middle 50s. The oldest are 70. These people are at the end of their careers with many of them already retired. They've got no reason to feel the need to get up and work to climb the mountain- they're already at the top.

Again, that's neither here nor there.

The stereotype is that millenials aren't driven. That's objectively false.

And partly due to that, partly due to Boomers being on their way out the door, and probably other undiscussed factors, millenials are some of the most competitive folks on the planet right now.

Some of y'all are really failing to see the point here.

I'll take millenials over Baby Boomers.
