I use it nearly on a daily basis but I implemented it for work. I use it to set up my construction jobs so I can put dailies in it and they are immediately synced with my office to grab time and job codes from. I used it to coordinate with the engineering firm I worked with on my last job to help them keep track of my quantities easier.

If you are in school, I would think if you had a group of friends all using it in class using different notes, everyone would grab different information you could sort through.

Best of all, it is a very solid free program.

Business.

365 takeover.

Hating it.

Trying to find the bright side.

Your application sounds interesting.

Devils advocate here...

I put a bunch of info on note on OneDrive and then send email to someone with a link telling them to check it to get their info when I could just email them the info in the first place and drag it from my sent box to the project folder in outlook.

When I worked with the firm, it synced day to day for them just like it does us except they had no way to edit it, just view. I sent them the link once and they put it into their application and it constantly syncs. Not sure how Outlook handles the information as I don't use it. I am Mac based with an iPhone so I tend to not like apps that don't work well with the apple side of things.

It takes some getting used to but I was pretty obsessed with finding a solution of staying up to date with my office. I tried several apps and applications and OneNote was the easiest to use and simplest. My only gripe is the lack of spreadsheet support even in the most simple ways (stuff like simple SUM functions), and it lacks good link support to web based spreadsheets. I would love if I couldn't build the spreadsheet in it, if I could build a webbed excel sheet that would be linked and at least viewed in the OneNote app.

We use Google Drive instead. FWIW, we went to 365 a couple years ago but outside of the calendar and email it goes virtually unused.
