Looks like this deal is getting close. Boxing match...who do you have?
Mayweather has the boxing experience. McGregor has the youth.
Both are talking serious shat. Could be a record setting money fight.

So you downvote my question and upvote your response...and give no reasoning to your opinion. I'm impressed.

A) I did neither

B) Mayweathwr is a 40-0 professional boxer. McGreggor's speciality is not boxing. It be the equivalent of a PGA golfer playing a round with an NFL QB who is also a scratch golfer.

A good analogy is a world class rugby team joining the NFL and playing The Patriots. And then some person on the interwebs acting all surprised when you say they dont have a chance.

I'm kinda on the fence is this. Mayweather is tried and true but he is older and his last leg of fights have had him stalling and drawing decisions. McGregor is younger and has fought heavier fights and should be a lot stronger. The base of fighting is throwing hands. I think if McGregor can maintain cardio, this could be a very interesting fight but he is definitely the underdog.

I'll take the highly accomplished boxer in a boxing match. Would be shocked if McGregor won.

Mayweather has never been a brawler. He's a pure pugilist, perhaps the best ever. For people who like knockouts, he's boring. For boxing aficionados like myself, his style is beautiful. McGregor will have to get extremely lucky and hope Mayweather makes a mistake and gets caught. Probably won't happen tho.

Mayweather could box another 5 years and not lose, because he never gets hit.

Yea which i am def not. But i watched a fight with a work associate of mine who was and he was pointing all that above about he never gets hit. Im trying to argue with him because the fisticuffs are being thrown so fast it looks like he is. But then the broadcast showed a slowed down replay and you could see it. Every punch that looked like it was near his head, was never contacting.

The guys instincts and reaction time are amazing. Now i still dont enjoy that type of pure boxing, but i do have a lot more respect for the craft, and Mayweather's expert skill set. To me its similar to fencing.

Mayweather is like a Mongoose v. a striking snake. Dances around, throws a couple punches, and either waits for the opponent to get tired or he works his stats for the decision.

So, since you have the fighters figured out, how would you squirm out of the above post if Mcgregor hypothetically wins?
-Proves that Mayweather may be underrated as he just got beat at his own game by an MMA fighter?
-McGregor may be the better pound by pound fighter but he just "got lucky" in the boxing ring when he fought the great Mayweather?
-Proves nothing? The potential half of a billion dollar purse for both fighters is all for not as Mayweather is too old, and the match was overrated from the start?
Any other possible explanation that you could give?

You're probably right. I don't know why Mayweather would want to jeopardize his unblemished record and legacy for an unknown variable like McGregor.

Mayweather for sure. The goal is not for McGregor to win, it is for both of them to make millions of dollars. Which they will.

Because boxing an amateur won't be difficult. Mayweather has more knowledge about spacing and reach than McGregor could possibly learn in such a short amount of time. Likewise in an MMA match. If it was MMA, McGregor would leg kick him and take him to the ground and it would be over in 45 seconds. The same is probably true in reverse.
