You're still wrong

quote:

8. LaFayette, La-FAY-it

This Chambers County town of about 3,000 residents is known as the birthplace of boxing champion Joe Louis. Although it was named for the Revolutionary War hero, Marquis de Lafayette, locals do now use the French pronunciation, preferring to put the emphasis on the second syllable. It also is written with a Capitol F.

Seriously I don't understand how you live there and still have the pronunciation wrong despite literally everything saying otherwise. Either you don't talk to anybody else that lives there, or you're straight up lying about living there.

I thought the guy called "SmackoverHog" just made up some random name. Sometime later, I found out there is someplace really called Smackover.

There was someplace around here called Fair Play. We used to make fun of it in my younger days. Another funny name my neck of the woods is called Cooter.

Honestly, Mobile should be on your list. I bet Northerners have no idea how to properly say Mobile, AL.

A lot of those names are Native, and probably only give the people who aren't from the south trouble, as we see a lot of those names down south. There's actually a Eufala also in Oklahoma. Oneonta probably follows a pronounciation like Oneida, also in Oklahoma.

OOOH. I get it know. That's what my wife means when she says is never going to climax. Is it a bad area?

I as an inveterate tourist want to visit Fayetteville, moreover, I've already bought tickets at https://uk.lowcost.club/ . They say that there are a lot of landscapes and sights which are worth visiting. Especially, I want to see Fayetteville Confederate Cemetery.

The worst song ever written about a town

Even worse than "Paint me a Birmingham" and that's saying alot.

"I needed a new town for my new start selling VCR's in Arkansas at a Wal-Mart."

Not only does that sound pathetic, but ridiculously dated.
