You can be judged by the colors on your skin years after you’re dead if you preserve your tattoos.

Giving you the ability to bequeath your tattoos to your loved ones is the focus of the newly launched National Association for the Preservation of Skin Art (NAPSA).

“Nearly all tattoos represent a story,” said Charles Hamm, the NAPSA executive director, in a news release, and “… many people have thousands of dollars’ worth of art on their personal canvas. It’s a natural next step to want to explore ways to preserve the art and the stories for loved ones.”

For a fee, NAPSA says it will preserve your tattoos through a chemical process that produces non-toxic pieces safe to handle. NAPSA will provide your children, grandchildren and others you designate as beneficiaries pieces of you in ornate frames they can display on the walls of their homes.
