Protestors have said on multiple media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, local news, and internet reports that racism is a daily occurrence on Mizzou's campus, so much so that the students feel unsafe.
Last night, Jonathan Butler was interviewed on CNN's Anderson Cooper. He went so far as to say that he felt unwelcome and unsafe the moment he stepped on campus. How is that possible?
Mizzou's campus has a 7 percent black student population and yet the majority white students elected a homosexual black student as Student Government President - Payton Head. Interesting. Most people would have a hard time believing an extremely racist and unwelcome majority white student population would elect a homosexual black student as Student Body President.
Also, Concerned Student 1950 protestors recently said someone yelled the n-word to them. When that happened, they were in shock and silence from what they heard.
If daily racism is occurring on Mizzou's campus, why would the n-word cause these students to be shocked? I mean, they've been saying that racism is a systemic daily occurrence for them. People call them the n-word all the time according to them. CNN even interviewed a black female professor who said she's been called the n-word often.
If that's the case, why would someone recently shouting the n-word to Concerned Student 1950 shock and silence the protestors?
The answer is it wouldn't. It may anger them (and rightfully so), but it wouldn't shock them if it was happening all the time.
The majority of accusations are a lie. CNN interviewing the homosexual black Student Body President is alone a story that isn't being told. Not once did Anderson Cooper challenge the Student Body President with the following:
"Mr. Payton Head...if Mizzou is as racist as you claim, how did you become the Student Body President at a majority white school?"
Seems to me like that would be an obvious and easy question. But that question was never asked.
"Mr. Payton Head...you claim that racism and the use of the n-word is a daily occurrence on campus. If true, why would you be shocked and silenced by someone shouting the n-word to you recently?"

Please post a link to the police reports filed by students that feel their safety is threatened.
Otherwise, it's bs.

So, Student Prez sassy pants can't handle getting called a mean ole word.
Wait until he gets out in the real world and life kicks him in the balls. Who is he gonna run to then? We're creating a society of pussies.

My favorite part about it...is that he is arguing against feeling uncomfortable (as he should, the N word has no place in our society except history and art), but says his goal was to make others uncomfortable....

Yet a student protest group with zero credibility just became a truly powerful group capable of forcing the president to resign and perhaps dictate policy in years to come...
Frightening

Killz, why do you hate black people so much?

The hypocrisy is sickening. I watched that video of the Asian school reporter trying to take pictures of the protest. He was then confronted by multiple protestors and told he couldn't do his job. They then proceeded to push him away along with several big black dudes getting in his face.
I thought they were the ones protesting intimidationon campus. Then they turn around and physically intimidate a school reporter for doing his job.
BS. Comical and sad at the same time. Somical.

How many people would it take to drive up to you in a truck and hurl slurs at you before you felt unsafe? How often would that have to happen?

If you go to the university leadership to complain about these things happening, and they don't do anything about it, what do you do? Just sit back and accept it as an unchangeable fact of life?

Killz, in this one you've made some excellent points. I think we all know Mizzou is no more racist than anywhere else. This whole situation was staged by Butler, a narcissistic, charismatic activist-in-training. I think it was his trial run - maybe part of his master's thesis project. From blowing specific incidents out of proportion to his "hunger strike", this was all well thought out. And it worked like a charm. Mizzou was not ready for that level of activism.
Now, they will take it a few steps too far I think. Refusing to allow the media access was a bad move. And they will make some unreasonable demands that backfire. But they've caused change and forced the "oppressors in chief" out. With the help of the athletes - it could not have been done without them, I don't think. They don't realize they got used.
Gotta hand it to him - he's good. He has a bright future ahead of him in professional organizing and agitating. I guarantee he's going to be advising other student groups on how to right the wrongs and address social injustices on their campuses. All for a fee, of course.
Racism is wrong, and evil, and should be stamped out wherever it is found. But the extremists ultimately hurt their own cause.

No worries hog on a hill, we know your bunch is "offended" by everyone and everything.

And this is where the whole thing is BS. It is laughable that the Board of Curators didn't stand up to this entire situation.

At least more than once
Basically 1 isolated, ALLEGED, incident is solely responsible for this feeling of "institutionalized racism". 2 incidents, if you include the poop swastika.

I'm not saying that. I just don't believe the story to be accurate. There's giant holes in the story as I pointed out in the OP.
I think it's fair to question the protesters, to prove their credibility, when someone's job is on the line...especially when the person who lost his job is the leader of the university.

These people are attention whores with an agenda. They said they feel uncomfortable but yet they are the ones going out in public talking about black power in front of mostly white crowds. This is akin to those girls who fake rape accusations to gain sympathy IMHO.

There are two things that are EVIL to the liberal: 1. White males; 2. The South.
Here we have a campus full of the former, and that elected to become part of the latter by joining the SEC.
The campus is full of a bunch of pale faced, trembling northern socialist liberals. They could not abide this.
I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner honestly.
