Yikes. At 25mph that's crazy.

I know the definition of totaled.

Still wouldn't think you could total a car going 20 unless it's a complete POS

I was probably going faster, but you can total a car going 10 miles per hour, depending on what you hit.

Crumple zones in the engineering for safety, and when airbags deploy, fahgetaboutit. Repair cost exceeds value in just about anything. Don't need much speed.

Eta glad nobody was hurt.

Got into a 3 car accident in my jeep a couple months ago.

Somebody stopped on 90. I couldn't, so I biforcated the hatchback on the car in front of me. Totaled. Teenage girl rear-ended me. Totaled. Jeep has a scuff mark on the rear bumper.

I have confidence that they will, as I do know the SC insurance commissioner personally

Cars are made to methodically come apart without harming the driver. frick the naysayers.

If it's that bad though, I hope it is totaled. You don't want a chassis repair, bulldogging down the road corner first. Upgrade

Not to be that guy, but thats one advantage of driving a truck, baw. Glad no one was hurt.

How does this work with insurance? Are you fricked since they will have to pay, or is your insurance company fricked because they will have to collect from this jack wagon and not another insurance company?

:kige:

As to the odd law of unintended consequences. Live are being saved but creating injuries that never existed before. As force is directed elsewhere it has caused a new "crumple zone" in the human body that can be very slow to heal.

You hope that you opted in for coverage against underinsured drivers.

Then you file a claim against your own insurance company that will pick up the slack that the other party can't cover. You do have the problem of having less negotiation rights in terms of car value / coverage extent since arbitration is your recourse if you disagree

Well the owner of the other car , did have insurance, but the driver was not the owner.

I assume my insurance company will go after the other company to recoup the damages. I'm good either way.

So the other driver was insured.

Your insurance company may pay initially, but will work something out with their insurer.

His jokes make sense, in his head. Everyone else just pretends he didn't say anything.

Seriously. I've been here for 3 years, and I've been the victim of 2 hit and runs, someone backed into me in a parking lot, and then last night.
