I know it's long (video press conference, 18 minutes,)
LINK

They plan to visit 18,000 homes knocking and looking for crimes or for tips on crimes, to fight urban crime in the city.

Hell no. This is America. Go do your jobs and stop harassing people. Cops in America are getting worse by the day.

There's nothing wrong with a community effort and building relationships. But "knocking on doors" with the express purpose of "looking for crimes" is not a route I want any police department to take.

In addition to visiting homes, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will also be installing surveillance cameras throughout the targeted area in Northwest Jacksonville. The cameras are to be purchased with funds obtained from forfeiture.

I don't like anything in this part. Steal people's stuff. Put in cameras to watch people with the revenue from state-sanctioned theft. Our country has died and we are in the unenviable position of sitting around and watching the body cool.

Nobody is required to answer a door knock.

Can I kill a cop if I feel threatened? I was just standing my ground.

They've obviously driven down crime.
