Or is it that people whine and complain about not getting their way? Maybe a bit of both. Remember the anger and fear in '08 and '12?
Up vote for bitching, downvote for Trump.

No. It's just a very vocal minority of people who complain when things don't go their way. Plus the big O in DC throwing fuel on their fires.

Politicians as a whole are forcing a division in order to maximize profit so to speak.

No, our nation was already deeply divided and Obama has definitely been the most divisive President in my rather lengthy lifetime.

The anger and fear? No Sure a lot of people didn’t vote for him, and there were some angry vocal rednecks here and there, but the riots and protesting and recounts, safe spaces and city mayors getting on TV saying that they're going to break federal laws? NO. Nothing like what we're seeing now.

Trump is a product of the division. Not the cause

No. Obama did that when he defended people like Michael Brown and Freddie Gray and throwing police officers under the bus.

I rioted in 2008 and 2012, tbh. You might have missed it.

It was kind of a quiet/brief one. So much rage, though. I stood in front of my TV after they called the election and said, "frick," under my breath. Oh, but there was VIM in that "frick"! If you'd been there you'd have known they were two of the weightier fricks I'd ever deigned to drop.

Then, I went to bed, slept, and went to class ('08) or work ('12) the next morning, riot accomplished.

Trump, though I hate him, only plays a small role. It's mostly snowflakes on both sides causing the trouble.

This. The worst part is neither side of snowflake realizes they're the exact same a-hole they claim to hate.

He makes a whole lot of sense to me. If the political spectrum was a circle the far left would butt up to the far right.

I hope Trump will say, "frick this division. I don't owe anything to any of you assholes so get your shite together and help MAGA."

Honestly, I'd say there has always been division in this country. There was that whole Civil War thing and the Civil Rights era. People were divided on splitting from England. We are a nation that picks sides. It's why we have some many damn sports leagues.

The main problem is now everyone can get on the internet so it's much more visible and that allows others to pick a side and get outraged. Trump is merely the outrage du jour.

I love the internet, but it allows weirdo's to get together. Once upon a time, if you got off on screwing a loaf of bread (just an example I haven't researched it), you kept that shite to yourself. Now you can find a whole community of bread frickers on the net. There will be a whole sub-group of people who like ebony (wheat bread), latino (tortillas), Jewish (matzo) and any other kind of bread fricking there could be.

So, I guess I vote bitching.

Now, I'm off to jerk it to some marble-rye bread.

Some people love to be divisive.

I think America is fantastic and it's a great to be alive and live here.

Sebastian Maniscalco had a great bit on that phenomenon, only he used "dressing up like a baby" as his example
