Is this the scariest scene from a Disney movie ever?

That one edges out Ursula's transformation in The Little Mermaid for me.

Mr. Walter Disney was not a square virgin nerd. Quite the contrary. Quite.
He took great pleasure sneaking a lot of perverse shite into his creations.

I remember Lampwic's transformation into a donkey giving me nightmares.

I'm still scarred for life by the boat/tunnel scene from Willie Wonka.

Hunchback of Notre Dame when Frollo sings to the fire was pretty wicked.

Yep. That scene terrified me as a kid

Willie Wonka was a sadistic son of a bitch. He was essentially a Nazi. Charlie was the chosen one. Everyone else deserved to burn.
(Not to mention that Charlie was blonde and blue eyed. Nor that Gene Wilder is Jewish).
How about the forest fire burnout at the end of Bambi? I recall distinctly seeing it at 4 or 5, my mom and I at the cinema. It being affirmed by MY mother that Bambi's has died.
Walt Disney was a Nazi, too, you know.
No, seriously.

skin me, hang me, roast me, knock my head clean off, but don't throw me in the briar patch.
It is now referred to as the tar trap

Yeah this freaked me the frick out as a kid. So many "kids" movies from that era wouldn't stand a chance today. A lot of strange scenes were made back then.

The Black Cauldron scene... My mom had to take me and my brothers out of the theater... They were 5 and I was 3... Nightmares for months.

The end of Fantasia would have to be up there.

One of the great things about Disney from the beginning is they didn't give a frick about scaring kids as long as good won out in the end (which it always did/does in Disney flicks).
Even way back in Sleeping Beauty, when the Prince had to fight through the thorn forest, then fight the witch-dragon (with all the powers of Hell behind her - quote from the witch) and the green fire.
Great frickin' stuff for a movie to be seen by toddlers and up.

Frollo singing "Hellfire" in Hunchback of Notre Dame is up there for me. It's an entire song about justifying rape and the murder of women.

The opening scene with that bat hiding in the cupboards still scares the shite out of me

Walt Disney was a sadist, that's my conclusion.

It might run in his family? I know one descendant of his who is unhinged and extremely violent towards women. Always gets off due to family influence and nobody reporting his actions. Dude should
