Let's hear your best prognostications of what it will be like, in say 50 years..
Maybe we'll all be more intermingled, and not much difference in personalities, race, culture, just lame.
Alchohol will probably be just strips you put in your mouth and let it dissolve, no hangover effects, you pick the level of buzz you want.
Ya, that's all bs, based on Hollywood.
What you got?

Pot is smoked as freely as alcohol is drank nowadays. One can hope

Jorah can come home and live on bear island in peace

Cars that drive themselves maybe? Just type in a destination and relax

I haven't read the books but I am very anxious to find out what happens to ole Jorah.

This is most likely.
I'm still pissed we don't have flying cars and hoverboards, they told us we would probably have them by 2000. I was so wide-eyed and naive in the 80's.

In 2064, unless a major depopulation event happens, the earth will have approximately 11 billion people.
Extraterrestrial life will have been discovered but not intelligence.
The exponential advances in technology will continue, increasing length of life expectancy.
The earth will be close to becoming a multi-organismic body that gains conscienceness.
Wars will be fought entirely remotely, between corporations instead of nations; between robots, not people.
We will defeat the last remaining threats to human existence: Viruses and bacteria.
"The Big One" will devastate LA, killing tens of thousands.
A comet or small asteroid will get past our defenses and lay waste to an area in China.
The Cubs will not win the World Series.

Please. We will still be waiting on the series to end

I really don't think civilization as we know it will still be around 50 years from now. I'm not a religious person so I'm not saying the end of the world will be by God's hand. I'm saying that mankind is it's own worst enemy and the fact that we've only had two nukes used in combat so far is incredible. We're gonna kill each other off imo.

This is one of those things that completely turns me off to Marijuana. I think I would give it a try if it weren't for this unbelievably superficial culture that surrounds it.
The man asks you what you think life will be like in 50 years -- you don't think of apocalyptic scenarios, productivity in science or a more united humanity.
No, you "hope" pot is legal.
Green Evangelicals, I swear. "Our liberator will be freely shared among our brethren....."
Anyway:
I like what Kentucker said. Although I think there will be a great extinction event -- whether it be produced by a viral infection or a volcano spreading aggressive bacteria. Something will definitely happen (I don't think it will be an active agent), and we will be forced to live in a completely different way than before.

We will see huge population shifts as parts of the planet including many areas in the United States exhaust the fresh water supply. Climate change continues, the 1.2 degree rise in average temperature turns about .2 % of the worlds farm land into desert and raises the sea level 1' 3" inches, re shaping the coastlines of every continent. Cities and major population areas shift to skyscraper farms where giant vertical greenhouses are able to produce at a much more accelerated rate using hydroponics.

I actually did suggest cars that drive themselves if you read my other post. It just so happened that I had this conversation with a friend of mine right before this thread was started.

I keep telling everyone that the movie idiocracy is really a history channel documentary sent back in time to warn us. We don't listen, therefore we discover that electrolytes are what living creatures crave and it starts from there with the fast food wars.
At least we get the 24 hour 'bating channel tho.

I think the Mongols rise again and re-establish their empire. Take over the whole world.
