And not some dream no holds barred. But a decent vacation on a reasonable working man's budget? Caribbean? Maldives? Canada? Europe? Asia? Australia? Scandanavia? Where would you go?

I'm putting in my application for a passport Monday. I was seriously looking at Norway and/or other Scandanavian countries. Depends on when I go, but I am gonna shoot for Sept or October.

That's a pretty dang good deal. I was thinking 2k give or take some. Been findin some pretty decent packages for around that to several places. Most are 7 to 10 days.

The hotel must be a hostel at that price. A room with 8-10 strangers in it isn't my idea of vacation

I booked my trip to Belgium with Priceline, I got my flight/hotel/car for two people under 3k. With the car, we were able to drive to Germany and Holland. I could have gone to Paris but instead, we took a flight to Italy for 2 days.
For the price it was well worth it honestly, hotels though don't come with AC, it did not bother me but the GF was upset. So if that is a thing for you make sure you call and request it.

Yeah.. I've heard Europe is pretty averse to AC. Girl I used to work with was going to school at Samford University and did 6 weeks in Spain. In Summer. She said she was over the heat and garlic oozing from locals' pores, but otherwise loved it.

I'm probably looking at a September/October trip more than likely so won't have to worry about that I hope.

Nope, you won't see anything over 90, just rain

What area? I know you mentioned Norway.
Here is Mobile Alabama to Oslo Norway for July 12-24 of this year. 2000 a person but airfare/hotel included

So it's 10 nights with over 52 hours in layovers between 3 flights? Holy carp! That's horrible, one layover was over 20 hours sitting in the airport by itself...

And that one is only for 7 nights...... And one guest with additional charges for second person.

Nah I can adjust the flight if I want, as I said my trip for 2 doing 16 days in Belgium was under 3k including airfare, car rental, and hotel.
We had a 6-hour layover in Washington DC on the way there and a 4-hour layover on the way back. If I really wanted to fool with it and go through flights I could get it at the same price with less than a 8 hour layover.

Probably fly into Norway. I gotta lot of research to do and this is just in the.. I think I'm gonna do something to break he boredom stage.

But that's about 99% of how I start and finish things. Plus, they got skydiving there and it'd be cool to get a video on the way down to some foreign soil.

You learn quickly when you travel to Europe that our 3* is their 5*

I lived in Europe in high school. Have also been to Turkey and Japan for mini-vacations.

Would love to visit Australia some day though and catch an Aussie Rules match, though.

Hotel was VERY nice, just I did not request an AC unit because temperatures were predicted to be in mid to high 80's during the day and low 70's at night. Instead, it was low 90's during the day and mid 80's at night. they provided us with 2 central fans though
