I'm rarely in CP unless I'm goin to the interstate from Pinson. Back in the day though.. there was Trader's in Centerpoint. Bought many many guns there. The old mustang drive in.. Bama 6 theatre was a good hang out til they ran off everyone and Center Point 6. It's amazing how far it's fallen off from back in the day.

Center Point was a fun place in the 80s. I wasn't old enough to really get to enjoy the arcades and all of that stuff. I know there was an arcade on Carson road that made a killing.

Yeah.. that was back when Center Point 6 was still a place to go too. Hell, I can remember when you could go to Irondale and play in Aladdin's Castle arcade in Century Plaza.

I had no idea they opened it back up. That was always some cheap entertainment. If you got tired of watching the races you could people watch and learn some stuff

Last time I was there, I had a POS 75 Chevelle Malibu and won my money back bracket racing. I think I ran around a 10.25 and beat some dude that had a Camaro running in the 7's. He broke out and was po'd, some high school kid in a limited slip beat his arse.

I got my head stuck in the railing of the second floor at Century Plaza during Christmas time The place was all decked out for Christmas with people all over the place and then you have a dumb little kid in a panick with his head stuck. Good times

Won my entry fee back.

Then.. all the momma's boys that bought new mustangs and strapped some NOs on em and thought they were street racers flooded the streets and SECO and Super Shops closed.

There were a ton of folks in the early 90s that were running NOS. I'd laugh when I'd see em broke down on the side of the road Every 1988 Mustang lx was running NOS

No shite. Thought they were badass and ultimate street racers.

Top guys who actually built their rods back in my day were..

Aaron.. had black '71 Stang fastback
old dude, can't remember his name.. had an 86 Grand National
Buzby had I think a 69' Chevelle 454

There was some damn good races on 35th ave and on the horsetrack road when it was closed and Hwy 11 before it 4 laned and Sportsplex was around.

86 Grand Nationals were awesome I still wish I had one. My first car was a 79 Trans Am with a 403. Couldn't keep a starter on the damn thing. I had a 86 Trans Am with a 305 after that. That car wasn't fast at all
