What would you look for?

I figured we, the founding members (roughly 50 handpicked trustworthy individuals), will accept applicants based on a resume, short video interview, and a physical. The society will be a true democracy. Every law, constitution, rights, etc. will be voted on directly by the members of this new nation. Yes, it sounds cumbersome, but a small population would enable a true democracy.

This is as much as I've come up with so far, which isn't very much I know. Any further suggestions or ideas?

This is all hypothetical, thus no ideas are off limits. Give me yo best stuff.

A true republic.

A reworded U.S. Constitution basically clarifying some things in modern lingo.

Multiple wives would be okay with me ... as long as you can afford them.

How micro are we talking here? Remote island micro, Rhode Island micro, Costa Rica or Honduras micro? Texas micro?

Would we be allowed to remove all indigenous humans that we find there ... unless they have some fine women they'd like to leave behind, of course?

I was thinking something large enough to sustain a fee thousand people at first. Certainly no larger than Rhode Island... until the nation has been around a hundred years or so, then you can being conquest to expand the nation.

Why would you do that? It's already been done, and it failed.

I wish more of these effers moving here in droves would get the memo.

Why don't you take that on as a little project, to spread the word?

First and foremost would be a flat tax or sales tax. Whichever people vote for.

I would break it up into multiple states/regions. Then I would let those people vote on the morality laws in their region. If you want pot/SSM/abortion* move to a state that legalizes it.

Everybody in public office serves a 1x6 year term max. After completion of one term you may never hold public office again in any format.

All welfare is based on need alone. It can only be used in 3 formats. Higher Education, food assistance, and 6 month supplemental financial assistance. You get it 3 times for life as a family with a 2 year break between applications. You may not vote or hold public office while on Welfare.

Taco Tuesdays.

*I'm super super against abortion and think it's flat out murder in most instances and understand that it's not a libretatian view to completely outlaw it.

Are you saying a lot of Texans don't know their own history or... did that little mentioning just bother you so much? Weird.

I wouldn't care to be part of any society that would have me as a member.

Though honestly I was giving advice for emulation. For the real thing, a local retro store or pawn shop or craigslist is good enough and cheaper. Ebay too.

Since you have the real thing, you should look into the NES Everdrive. I ordered mine direct from the manufacturer in Ukraine, Krikzz.com . I think Retrotowers also distributes them. I have one for NES, N64 and Turbografx. They are expensive, over $100. It's a cartridge that holds a flash drive the console can recognize and play ROMs from. In other words, every game ever on one cartridge.

Remember that feeling you had on 9/11 when you realized the world had just changed?

That's what you just made me feel, but in a good way.
