If you could reboot your life from any point...

What would you choose and why?
Maybe you'd just like to fix a mistake and re-live something awesome that just happened yesterday?
Maybe you life was going great an something really botched things up that was super avoidable. Or you just really want to go through college, but minus all the stress. Who knows.
Maybe you're nostalgic and choose all the way back to childhood. (Remember, kids have next to no freedom so be careful what you wish for).
Maybe you just want to go back one month and have a perfect bracket so they do a 30 for 30 on you're amazing basketball know how.

If you go far enough back, you could do all of those things.

Right before I read this post. Obvious reasons

I'd go back to right before your father busted in your mother and chop his cock off.

I wouldn't trade my life experiences for anything. All the joy, regret, sadness, surprises, learning; the moments of tenderness, anger, evil, benevolence, happiness.
I also wouldn't want to do it again. Life's fricking hard.

I guess go back to the day before that 1.2 billion powerball with the winning numbers would be a solid start for a reboot.

No regrets. It's best to always look to the future. Only look to the past to prevent duplicating something negative.

I'd go back to the summer between high school graduation and my freshman year of college. That was a long time ago, but I would trade in some party time for some second chances at missed opportunities.

Easy: The morning of my senior trip. I'd take that offer in a heartbeat. I'd just take the information I have now and make much better decisions than I did. I don't mind the general direction my life has taken, but I think I could have well been in the 6 figures range by now if I had done it right.

fricking serious? I mean sure they have to obey parents and go to school, but I mean, no job, no mortgage, no responsibilities...if that isn't freedom I don't know what is.

I loved my life, and I would go back in time just to experience it all again exactly the way it was. But I would take more pictures and almost certainly keep a journal. As decades pass, some memories fade. Even the most precious.

I'd go back to the summer before high school, and start from there.

I have thought about that before and it is a tough idea to figure out.
I would love to take all the knowledge I have now and start over from about 9th grade. I would be filthy rich from the stock market and would get myself out of a few law problems I may or may not have had.
Not having the mind of a teenage boy, I probably could have increased the rating level of girls I dated. Nothing but OT 11s
The problem would be I am so content and happy with what I have now with the wife and kids. Even if I changed the complete direction of my life, I would still want to end up at the same destination I am now.
Maybe something closer, send me back 3 months with all the daily issues of the Wall Street Journal.

I wouldn't go back and do anything differently that would potentially alter the course of my life. I'm pretty content with how my life has turned out so far.
Probably the only thing I would do differently if I could would be how I handled a close friend's death in high school. I bottled up a lot of sadness and anger and repressed a lot of feelings at the time. Even going so far as to not going to the funeral because I couldn't stand the thought of facing his mother and crying in front of everyone, then avoiding any contact with his family for several years afterwards. That was remedied and I do keep in contact with them now, but I lost 10 or so years of time with them that I can never get back.

I've got a wife and daughter that I love more than anything in the world so I wouldn't change a single thing that would alter ending up where I am now.
The one thing I would do is go back and start contributing a LOT more to my retirement savings when I first started my career. The boats, nice cars, and other toys were fun but now that I approach 50 I understand it would be a whole lot more fun to be able to walk into career retirement and a walking-around-money fun job with a lot of good years left.

I would never want to change the result as I'm basically living the exact life I wanted as a teenager at this point in my life:
In a band with my best friends
In law school
Have a cool house in walking distance to a cool bar
Have a cool dog
Getting married to an intelligent hot blond with class
Life is good
With that being said, I would love to change a few of the paths I took to get there, and maybe arrive back at the same point earlier, with more money, and more good memories.

I try not to dwell on my past, good or bad times. My brain uses those events to shape what I do in the future, and hopefully, if it's doing its job correctly, I won't repeat the mistakes. It's done and over with, no reason for me to remain stagnant remembering the good ol' days or depressing myself thinking about previous mistakes.
Hopefully in my final days, when there is nothing left to accomplish in life and nothing else is required of me, I will reflect back on everything that has happened and be proud of the life I lived.

Do you even remember being a kid? You can't even decide what you buy, eat, watch on TV, when and what you can do on a computer, who you hang out with or... hell, even when you sleep. I'm nostalgic for a lot of things about childhood, but stuff like that keeps me from ever wanting to go back. Though, no bills is still pretty damn tempting.
