So I called what I thought was Microsoft to get my email fixed. They used some tool where they could look at my monitor and they seemed legit. They said they were a company trusted by Microsoft. Then they said they would fix my email and computer if I baught a security package so I told them to call me in tomorrow. I didn't give them my credit card info but I put in my name, address, and email. Could I still get screwed without giving them my cc#? All help is appreciated!

Edit: I just changed my password for my account, hopefully this works. Do y'all think this will get them off my email?

Ok I changed my email password, signed up for the no-call list, blocked their number, and disconnected my computers wifi(everything seems fine with the computer). Thanks for the advice! Will keep this board updated if anything happens soon.

Google the name of company. See if they're running a scam.

Never a good idea to give someone access. Just have them talk you through it.

Disconnect your computer from the internet and see if it's doing anything weird.

Do you really think people will want to click on that link? Maybe you're the one scamming the board and have a virus imbedded in the link to attack our computers.

Here's some advice. Don't be such a dumb arse in giving someone access to your computer, and two FU if you are the scammer.

Click on this LINK and download the program so that I can gain remote access to your computer. Once I gain access I will find out if you were scammed or not.

Doesn't sound good. If you've got an Anti-virus, I would run it immediately. If you don't, I would download Malwarebytes (free) and run a scan on your computer.

Obviously that isn't close to an end all be all solution, but that's where I would start.

This computer wasn't used for bills and other payments besides stuff like Amazon purchases. Can they get that info?

Your Amazon wishlist has probably been compromised.
