We're all having fun laughing at ole miss right? In this day and age, when someone on the big stage goes down in a fireball like that, they can't escape the trolling and hate. It's everywhere. The comments are non stop and he will never live it down.

My question is, what would you think if he cracked under all this and did something bad to himself? Would the hating slow down would it stay the same or would we kinda realize that he's human and made a mistake. Would y'all feel bad about making comments?

(This isn't a morally superior position I've made my fair share of posts about it)

I'll get A TON of hate for this, but apparently I'm not down with schadenfreude as much as most of the SEC Rant. We're possibly looking at the complete destruction of a man's life. Sure, Freeze brought it on himself, and he often comes off as a sanctimonious douche, but he won't recover from this. He's Art Briles now, but Freeze may lose his entire family too.

I think it's fun in the moment but we sometimes forget how cruel the internet can be. These things don't die. When you slipped and fell at school and everyone laughed it was awful for that day. Mortifying. But the next day no one really cared. And a week later no one even brought it up. Now we have cameras, memes, boards, etc. Even something small doesn't go away anymore. I definitely forget sometimes that I grew up in a time where it was out of sight out of mind, it's not like that anymore.

The man preaches one thing and practices another. It's unlikely that his life follows a moral compass. More likely his main fear is being caught. I wouldn't worry about his mental stability. Sociopaths don't experience moral conflicts like most people.

I still don't understand the big problem with prostitution. I'd never do it, because I'm actually handsome and I have personality -- but c'mon.

Look at the guy. What's a man to do?

What you are asking, if he kills himself, do we all feel bad for fueling the fire?

frick no.

He had it all.

Multi-millionaire.

Young.

Great reputation.

Dream job that he loved doing.

Beautiful healthy loving family.

Most people would consider themselves lucky to have 1 of those attributes. He had all.

He apparently threw it all away for pussy. Over and over again. Not one mistake. Many mistakes.

Shell of a man.

On second thought, I do feel sorry for him. What the frick is wrong with someone who has it all, and throws it all away like that.

On third thought, thinking of his family, frick him.

frick you Hugh Freeze.

I don't enjoy watching anyone's family get dragged into the mud. Pretty unpleasant. People like to say he brought it on himself, which is true. But I wouldn't want the worst of me publicized. Most of us wouldn't.

Imo, your moral compass right on target. I enjoy trolling the rant board, but what's going on over there with Freeze is a truly sad indictment on mankind. We (me included) are so quick to condemn a person, but never consider our own faults. Whether you're a Christian or not, there are numerous references to hypocritical behavior in the Bible that are morally factual, but the best one that I can think of came from Jesus, himself, when he came upon the crowd who were about to stone a woman accused of adultery, he said, "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone."
And if you are a Christian, remember Jesus said, "Judge not lest ye be judged".

I'm not bashing anyone for a moral failure.

Whenever you have someone who outwardly professes faith, then has a failing, it triples the criticism.

What most people fail to realize is a man of faith is still a man, with the same temptations any other man has and can yield to. Should there be a higher standard? yes. Should we be surprised when someone being held to that higher standard falls? Not particularly, if you realize we are dealing with people.

I hope Freeze can mend whatever fences need mending with his family and others.

Which is awful in and of itself.

BUT, since

,

I don't feel bad for him. I feel bad for the people around him who trusted/believed in him. I feel awful for the family he failed. I feel bad for people of true faith of whom he's made a mockery.

For him, specifically? I feel nothing but pure contempt.

The problem I've always had with Freeze is his use of Christianity as a defense to criticisms about him. He used his alleged Christianity as a weapon against those that criticized him. And it turns out he apparently had some huge skeletons in his closet.

I'm pretty agnostic on religion, but living in the South I have several friends that hold their faith in high regard. I know several of them actually back up their faith with how that live their lives. His behavior cheapens their dedication to their faith and gives the militant atheists fodder to further criticize religion.

I have little use for charlatans. To hell with Hugh Freeze if these allegations are true.

I still feel pity. MY pity has nothing to do with YOUR guilt. He has things that he has to face up to but I hope he changes his ways.

Tbh, the whole industry is hypocritical. Any college with a football team worth a squat is cheating. The kids and some associated with them are getting money, benefits, etc. I would be really shocked if it were somehow proved that Ole Miss was the only P5 school providing "female companionship" for recruits.

Ole Miss is in trouble because they crossed the line of "gentleman's rules of cheating at recruiting," and showed the NCAA the bird when called on it. And they for sure should have never messed with Nutt.

I feel sorry for his family. I hope Hugh hits rock bottom so he can stop wearing a mask and actually turn his life around. He doesn't seem repentant at this point, which means he hasn't hit rock bottom. I do hope he stops hiding his own demons behind the Jesus stuff, because it does give a bad name to the many who actually live out their faith in a genuine way. At this point he's just a fraud that needs to be completely broken.
