I have a plan to stop all of this threatened player strike nonsense. The CONFERENCE needs to adopt a policy that this will not be tolerated. Now, this will be unpopular because it reeks of socialism, but we need to have a pact amongst all member institutions to financially back the others should this ever occur and a game has to be cancelled. If a team is out $10 million due to a player strike, the others should pony up to pay for it. Why? Because once we spread the cost out, that gives the entire CONFERENCE standing for a suit against players. Besides, Mizzou doesn't exist in a vacuum. What would happen if they were to have to cancel a game between Mizzou and Florida in the Swamp? In that case FLORIDA would be out millions over the decisions of players at Mizzou, so such an agreement would be a way to pre-emptively protect ourselves from the shenanigans at other schools. Then, the CONFERENCE sues the ever livin' shite out of the players to recoup the lost revenue. Granted, they won't have the money, but how many of them are going to want to walk out of college with a $90,000 judgement hanging over their heads? Further, we should have a conference-wide rule that players refusing to play due to protest have their scholarship revoked. That just takes it out of the coach's hands and he can legitimately tell his athletes that he has no control over it. I know that many will say that we're meddling in the affairs of other institutions, but we don't really have a choice. We are all contractually linked through television deals and revenue sharing. This bullshite at Mizzou can spread and has the potential to affect everyone, so we need to have a coordinated pre-determined response.

Guess I should have. I was just reading some of the Mizzou/South Carolina bullshite and went back to the board that I was already on.

Probably not...at least until one school takes a $10 million hit for something going on at another school. It's a crying shame that your limp-wristed President and cowardly coach allowed themselves to be bullied. I just don't want any other institutions to have to pay the price the next time your athletes decide to throw a tantrum.

Is the plan somehow legally flawed?
