How do you feel about modern roundabouts?

Do you like them? Are they proliferating where you live or have they been around for a long time?
I know they have been common in the NE for a long time, but it seems like they are making a big push for roundabouts in the South nowadays.
I personally like them and drive through one just about every single day. It replaced a 4-way stop a few years ago and makes my life easier. What say you?

Once you get the hang of it (and it takes about 3 of them), you recognize how much more effective they are.
And I learned in London. Massive traffic on the wrong side of the road.
Unfortunately, way too many people here against learning new tricks.

I like them and wish there were more around. However all the ones around here and that I've been through are relatively low traffic intersections, and I could see one getting backed up fairly quickly if it was a high traffic intersection.

I like roundabouts.
I hate driving with people who don't have a fricking clue how to use a roundabout. We have one out by our local zoo and people go full retard when they roll up on it.

Have you had any experience with diverging diamonds? We started getting them here in my town about 5 years ago and I'm a huge fan. They make overpasses flow so much more smoothly than the normal setup.

Love them, except for multi-lane/high volume traffic.

They're fricking fantastic. I wish they would replace every red light out there. We have one right outside our street and it has helped traffic so much in the 6 months it's been up. Of course you still get the idiot every now and then who stops and doesn't yield but overall people are pretty good

I like them way more than red lights especially when I'm on my motorcycle. Oxford has a couple that I drive through everyday.

This is the one thing I really hate about roundabouts though, I feel like I encounter way too many people who have no clue what to do when they get to a roundabout.

I like them, but it takes anywhere from a year to a decade for people to understand how to negotiate them..depending on where you live.

I've liked every roundabout I've used except for that big one up in Waco
Mainly because most folks didn't know how to use it.

We have a couple here locally and they take some getting used to. I also think they are a bit small, they have a tight turning radius, I think they need to be a big larger than they are.
We also installed a new double diamond crossover on one of our busiest intersections, and once you get used to it, it really does seem to help traffic flow.

Love em- we have a couple in lexington (a couple are even on Alumni drive right by Commonwealth), and they seem to be well received.
I'm Australian, so ive been used to the concept, but it was so frustrating when they were first put in on campus to see people struggling with how to navigate through them at first. Will probably be a problem every fall due to new students not knowing what is going on. But i want all 4 way stops replaced with them.

We don't really use them in Alabama, but I like them.

We are just starting to construct a few DDIs in Alabama.

Hated them until we got some in (mainly I hated them because I had to drive through some in Wales...try going through one of those suckers counterclockwise...it will blow your mnind). Anyway, since we've had a couple in stalled locally, I really like them. I'm building a house that is just down the road from 2 of them. It is a helluva lot easier to work with than a 4-way stop.

The roundabouts at Commonwealth Stadium have expedited traffic flow not only for game days. Stadium lots are the biggest parking areas for students through the week.
The double diamond at Harrodsburg Road and New Circle Road has relieved a nightmare that used to have multiple crashes every month.
They're both great ways of regulating traffic flow. Lexington will see their increased use in the 21st century.

You guys have already outlined a couple. Old Frankfort @ Alexandria as well as the "infamous" first by Lexington Christian.
When they first came here I was against them, not because they were new, but because of my experiences negotiating them in Boston where there are 8 potential exits off one roundabout. That was extremely confusing for someone visiting. They have been a welcome addition to Lexington however. Still folks from the hollers get confused by them now and again but it's a minor nuisance.

The fact that so many drivers cannot grasp the concept of a four way stop makes me hesitant on the mass proliferation of roundabouts where we are now forcing idiots to stop, yield, merge and turn all in rapid sequence.

There are very few in north Georgia and people have no clue how to use them
We have a new one in our small town and its funny watching people approach them and use them. I think we would have been better off with a relight
