Heading to the Springfield and Branson areas for work this week. I have never been. Anyone recommend any good lunch or dinner spots?
Not sure if I'll catch any shows, country music isn't really my thing. Thanks...

In Branson, I would recommend Cantina Laredo on the Landing and Osage Restaurant at Top of the Rock (best sunset view in the Ozarks imo).
In Springfield, some of my favorites are Flame, Gilardi's, Avanzare, Touch, Metro, Nona's, Maria's, Gastro Pub and Kai. It really depends on what type of food you like though.
A couple of places that I like to go to for lunch recently in Springfield are Metro, Sequoita Bike Shop and Bambino's on Battlefield.

Please regale me with stories about how delightful the faux-zarks shite is in Branson. Maybe about how tight the shows you saw or how much fun silver dollar city was!!1
Bonus points if you mention Lambert's for throwed rolls...HOW AWESOME!!

If you want the Ozarks go to the real Ozarks...not the flat Branson commercialized fake shite. Go to Mountain View or around the Buffalo River. Newton county. Eat at some actual authentic restaurants instead of some lame bullshite knockoffs in a strip mall

yeah Big Cedar, Top of the Rock, etc are just bullshite knockoffs. please.
Table Rock is better than any lake in Arkansas. Fishing, recreation, scenery, cleanliness, anything else you want to name

Big Cedar is decent.
I'm not going to compare Secchi depths of various lakes. First of all, give me a pristine mountain stream (called EWRs by ADEQ but I digress) over a lake anyday. I can tell you that Table Rock is listed on the USEPA 303d list as an impaired waterway for nutrient loading.
But if talking big lakes, give me Norfork, Greer's Ferry or even Beaver. Since you brought in all of Arkansas, lakes in the Ouachitas easily top Table Rock

nutrient loading? really?
also because you prefer rivers over lakes doesn't make the Missouri Ozarks shitty. In fact part of the beauty of the Ozarks is the existence of both.
and Big Cedar is decent? find me a nicer spot anywhere in Arkansas. same goes for the new Top of the Rock. First class place.

I don't know your background but nutrient loading speaks directly to cleanliness which you brought up. So I am guessing not environmental science.
An assload of N and P in waterways is not exactly a good thing. Table Rock has been losing water quality in a bad way the past few years
Oh and Gaston's would be my spot. Taking clients that way soon, its hard to beat

I've not been to Branson in a while.
The shows have taken a big hit. There was a Cirque show there a good bit back, It was a nice date night show and not at all the typical Branson fare. It's long gone now though.
Apparently there's a Creedence Clearwater Revival show up there now.
If you golf, take your clubs. There's a handful of pretty decent courses and it doesn't get dark until 8:30ish.

I'm talking about general cleanliness, no trash on shorelines, debris in water, etc. on those two counts in particular TRL is as clean as any lake in the region. the COE does a great job up there

What's the average year-round temperature at Norfork versus Table Rock Lake. It's probably statistically significant.

Probably but is it actually significant?
It may have trout fishing implications, although I wouldn't expect a Yankee-arse city slicker like you to think of that

I agree. The COE does a great job all over this area

You guys do realize the OP was just asking for food recommendations for his work trip and not the best place to park his boat?
