That's close to where mine stays. It's in my man cave so in the winter time it is closer to 65....which I love.

65 F. is better for the control of tobacco beetles.

Lower humidity allows for a better draw.

In our part of the country I never have to add water to any of my humidors. One is a large china cabinet type.

Are there devices that control the temp inside a humidor?

No I use A/C & like you, prefer cold.

There was a built in humidification device; but, it had been disabled by the previous owner.

If you use gas heat & like it warm in the winter, humidification may be required.

Aristocrat Armoire retails starring around $3500. Original owner paid about $2500 & sold it to me for $500...

Just a friend who cut back to one cigar a year.

Would a higher temp/humidity result in a plugged cigar? I have had that issue this Summer.

It's hard for me to pinpoint what other cigar the prensado reminds me of, but it's a nice smoke with plenty of thick creamy smoke and I detect nutty, leathery tones with maybe a hint of chocolate. I'll be interested to know what you think. Mine have had a nice draw and a great burn with a solid white ash.

Hopefully I will be able to light up tomorrow. When my sinuses are acting up I know it will be a waste.
My fav time to smoke is coming up. I will move a TV and chair out on the patio and smoke em all night while watching football.

Yes, but most just use AC.

I do have a Whynter l 250 Count Cigar Cooler
Humidor that I kept set on 65 degrees. Gift from my uncle. It's almost empty atm.

This same uncle bought me my first gun at the age of 4.

Humidity causes the leaves to expand; but, if you have a plugged cigar, most likely it was rolled too tight. Or, could be just a young, un-aged cigar.

Look for a device called the "Draw Poker". Works wonders with most tight drawing cigars.

I smoke in the home.

I ran into some bad luck then. Had several Perdomo's that were plugged. Same line must have been a bad batch.

Age them for a year in a dry box, that is, one without added humidity.

They won't dry out?

That's the idea; you'll want to check them periodically to make sure they don't get too dry.

Most cigar companies do not properly age their cigars, prior to shipment.

You're welcome.

Every box of Habanos I've ever bought was aged a year, or longer.

I've read lots of stuff on beetles and don't believe they are a real threat unless your box is creeping into the 80's consistently. If my box hits 75, I lay a ziploc full of ice on top of the humidor to get the temp down.

That's a good idea about the ice. I typically don't buy boxes during the hot summer months cause I set my thermostat in the house to 80 when I'm not home. I'll usually keep a couple days worth at a time then fill it up in the fall. I smoke mine too fast to agree em anyways.
