Me and the Mrs. decided to go with a vasectomy for me since she had so many health issues during the last few days before our son was born.

Wanted to get some thoughts/pointers from other guys on the OT that have had this done on what I can expect or what I will be experiencing afterwards.

I'm getting one sometime this summer or fall.

Couple of friends have had one. One said it was a breeze. He sat on the couch with a bag of frozen peas on his junk for a couple of days and ate pain pills. The other apparently has a super sensitive vans deferens and was pretty miserable for a few days.

Had a couple of co-workers say the same, that they laid on the couch with bags of peas and pain killers in a pez dispenser.

One guy told me that one of his stitches came out early and he had to go to the ER to get it replaced...

Wasn't bad at all. Felt like I got thumped in the balls when the Dr. Snipped the cum tube. The worst part was the sound of the scissors when it happened. Snip, followed by the feeling of a light thump to the balls. Only takes about 30 minutes start to finish.

When I had mine done, the office next door was doing a renovation and had the power tools on when we walked in. My wife immediately starts fricking with me about the power tools for my balls. :(

Well my Dr told me that before they do the local numbing agent that they would give me something via my vein to "make me feel better about being there"

Better be some good shite.

If it's what they gave me before I had back surgery last year, it is amazing shite. The nurses were laughing at me trying to dance in the bed while they were rolling me to the OR.

But it may just be valium. That's what I've always heard they give you before a vasectomy.

Considering that she almost died the day our son was born, this was the least-risky choice.

But thanks for your valuable input.

It's a breeze. Just follow the dr's orders afterwards...ice your balls, don't lift anything heavy. I just sat around drinking a few beers and watched tv for a couple of days, not bad at all.

Don't think beer and painkillers would go together very well. I still want to be able to play Ghosts coherently....lol

Me too, but compared to that stuff they gave me before surgery, it was like aspirin.

And beer and pain pills go together like peas & carrots. Not something you want to do frequently though.

My brother had one done after my nephew was born 7 years ago. He said only thing he experienced was a little mild discomfort and he was on restriction from lifting heavy objects for so many weeks. Other than that he's been good.

This right here. Lortab and Sierra Nevada is a fine mix, if done moderately...

piece of cake, stay in bed for a day and keep ice on the "boys" and you will be fine

its the dummies that think that they can get up and do stuff since they are not in pain, that wind up with issues.

I did it a few years back and within 6 months my wife had to have a hysterectomy.......
