a thread to share how great of a comedian George Carlin was. Brilliant commentary on his part. Whenever I look at past essays from Plato or Voltaire, it reminds me that someone from this century will be remembered for their outlook on humanity for generations. I believe that person for us will be George Carlin. He will simply be 'Carlin'. He hit both sides of the political aisle and never pulled punches when calling people on their bullshite. From environmentalists to religion.

Carlin and Bill Hicks are hands down my all time favorite stand up acts.

Bill Hicks was incredible, of the newer comedians I'm a huge fan of Bill Burr

Carlins material took a dark turn right around the time his wife died but he was always on

I loved George Carlin. His outlooks were brilliant, some scathing, and always hilarious. One of my favorites...

All you need to know about women and men is that women are crazy and men are stupid. And the biggest reason women are crazy is that men are stupid.

Hey I encourage you to post those. I prefer the older stuff when he got exceptionally bitter about what was happening around him

I'm a big fan of stand-up, but I'm just not a Carlin fan.

Carlin will forever be one of the greatest. So much of his material transcended stand-up comedy.

Probably not popular here given the political makeup of this board, but this one bit about abortion always stuck with me: If you're pre-born you're fine, if you're pre-school you're fricked.
