Last time I went to Gatlinburg was in 2005. That was the first time since the 80's. I was sorely disappointed. It's become Panama City with mtns instead of beach.

I won't be going back. With flights so cheap, I'll do the Rockies from here on out.

Biltmore looks really great.

It is. Take as many of the behind the scenes tours as you can. Rooftop, mechanical, etc.

I am not normally into touring houses and such, but my wife always wanted to see the Biltmore so I took her and it was freaking incredible. I expected to be bored to tears and couldn't have been more wrong.

Think we're gonna hit downtown Asheville tomorrow night after we get settled in. Biltmore on Super Bowl Sunday.

Ha. I did notice that after starting this thread. Glancing over it, I made the right decision to keep it on this OT

Give Bouchon's a try. On Lexington Ave. My wife and I love the place ... it's neat. My second oldest daughter was a bartender in the district for a few years before she moved to Knoxville so I think we have eaten at all the places downtown in the college district. Bouchon's is pretty damn good, reasonably priced and the atmosphere is excellent. Tupelo Honey Cafe is good too ... right across the street. Curate's is real good too ... again, right there on the same block.

You cannot go wrong with any of those three.

I'm none of those things, but I did find it kind of funny that "open pot use" is so offensive to you in 2016. You're not wrong about Asheville in general, though. Still a nice place.

Awesome bars and restaurants in Asheville.

Jack of the Wood - Excellent Celtic Pub...fun place for live music.

Most awesome place to stay... Grove Park Inn...they have an amazing spa...trust me, it is very cool.

Best breakfast... The Early Girl Eatery...amazing farm to table food. It is small, and you might have a bit of a wait, but it is worth it.

Cool stuff to do... Land Rover Experience - Biltmore...

Cool, but artsy stuff... Asheville River Arts District

Awesome Asheville BBQ... 12 Bones BBQ

Best chain restaurant that doesn't feel like a chain... Tupelo Honey Cafe - Downtown

Spend a lot of time in Asheville. Nice walkable downtown with amazing breweries and restaurants.

Check out Tupelo Honey, Biscuit Head, and White Duck Taco Shop for food. If you are into craft beer, Wicked Weed is a must stop. They serve great food there as well.
