Just skim this article. No need to get into the details...

quote:

Fewer working-age African-Americans than whites hold four-year college degrees in all but one of the nation's 150 largest metropolitan areas, according to a new Next America analysis of data from the massive National Equity Atlas.

quote:

African-Americans exceed whites in college completion only in Fayetteville, Arkansas...

Way to go, NWA.

Easy to do when almost everyone doesn't have a degree period?

So that's why no one was impressed by my vocabulary when I visited Fayetteville a couple years ago

I really need to start reading the racial scouting reports before traveling.

No, easy to do when you have a total of 5 blacks in the town

Or maybe it's just that they still can't get the hillbillies to stick with school past the 3rd grade.

I've lived in Fayetteville. Aside from seeing the occasional student, it is nothing but white people. Please don't act for a second as if your town is a beacon for diversity.

It's easy to be diverse when you don't have to deal with diversity.

the HS i went to had two black kids (brother and sister) in the whole school and both were wicked smart (she was my debate partner as well,) both made a 30+ on the ACT. We advertised racial diversity and excellence on our school website too (circa 2000 web graphics) with our 100% passing EOC testing scores for blacks and other school ratings that came with it.

The private academy I attended had 3 black students in the HS. 2 guys who were brought in to play basketball and one girl.

One of the guys failed out, the other got kicked out for drugs, the girl got kicked out for getting pregnant. Perpetuating stereotypes ftw

"Oh wow, he's so well-spoken," has to be one of the most overused subtle racist comments of all-time.
