That's awesome! My wife lived in Ketchikan for 6 years before we met. The pictures she showed me were so beautiful. Really like what I've seen and heard from her about Southeast Alaska. Have friends who lived in Juneau for a while but live in Anchorage now. Maybe I can shack up with them and see some of the sights.

Glacier Bay is spectacular. You can only see it by boat, or flying over it. 3 million acres, 16 tidewater glaciers, abundant wildlife.

Been to all the beaches in & around Charleston, as well a Virginia Beach.

The water at Padre Island Nat'l Seashore is Clear, unlike the muddy water around Charleston.

It's actually north Padre, adjacent to Corpus Christi Beach.

That's neat. I'd always imagined the water would be kind of murky in Padre Island. It sounds like it is more like the water you would see in south Florida. Would certainly like to check it out.

Prince William Sound and Kenai Fjords are spectacular too. My favorite local place is Tracy Arm, it's part of a wilderness area.

Walls of the fjord are 5,000 feet up, and the water is over 1,000 feet deep. Both Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm have tidewater glaciers at the end. There are thousands of waterfalls, some falling thousands of feet.

My camping spot on an islet between the North and South Sawyer Glaciers.

These are some of the images I've taken there.

Yes, just brownish sand, rather than white.

Definitely want to see Big Bend and the others around it(Carlsbad Caverns, Guadalupe Mountains). Not a National Park but interested in exploring White Sands.

Prefer the white sand but I'm sure it is still beautiful there.

Yeah, me, too; that's why I prefer GINS to all the above.

Capitol Reef is my most surprising, and most impressive of the parks I've been to. This is solely due to the lack of people and seclusion of the park.

I enjoyed Capitol Reef as it is an unusual geological formation. It is very secluded and not very well known. It was definitely not crowded when we were there which was very nice. Fruita was a neat little town. My wife enjoyed picking and eating the fresh fruit off the trees. It is a neat park.

To me, it was similar to Isle Royale in the since it takes effort to get there and is not well known. When we went to Isle Royale we felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. In Capitol Reef we were the only ones on the trails.
