Has anybody here ever done it? I'm not talking juice cleanse, I'm talking a real old school fast, with no calories, only drinking water, black coffee, etc.

If so, how long did you go? Anything you noticed about the experience?

I went about 48 hours without eating and drinking only water when I had a bad strep infection once. I probably slept about 2/3rds of it though.

I'm fasting right now until my girlfriend gets off work and finally brings me dinner.

ETA: Nevermind, I'm drinking a Coors Banquet. I'm cheating.

If you can relax and not have to work or have stress, then it's a great thing to do.

I'm 17 days in a 21 day Daniel Fast. Several days I will go without anything but water or juice. Be careful of headache and fatigue. Drink plenty of fluids.

Intermittent fasting is a great way to lose some weight and ramp up your metabolism.

I did it for 2 days in college when I was poor AF and had too much pride to ask for any help.

It sucked. Would not do again by choice.

I do it everyday.
I won't eat for 16-20 hours.

This^... Set a specific time frame to get your calories and nutrients...

Idc what anyone says. Fasting, to the point you don't eat a single meal, is horrible for you. Depending on your body composition, you burn like .50 calories per pound you weigh/hr when you sleep. Your body will be drained and you will feel like a tard, because your brain is too busy concentrating on wtf you are doing to your body to think clearly.

Fasting for 24-48 hours can drive up your HGH and testosterone production. It can also reset your immune system in a way by getting rid of old leukocytes and boosting production of new ones. At least that is what several peer reviewed medical studies say.

I'm pretty much the same. Water and black coffee only.

Longest I've gone since I started IF was a 48 hour fast just to do it. It really wasn't that hard, but I don't really see any reason to repeat the exercise.

I do it quite a bit actually.

It's good to shock the system now and then. I only do it on weekend days where I'm not doing much and working around the house. Sometimes the appetite is just not there so I don't eat. Lose about 5 lbs. and clean out a little bit.

I'll also have days where I only eat lettuce. Feel light on my feet afterwards.

If you have medical problems fasting isn't a good idea of course, and if you start feeling dizzy or have energy drain don't power through it. Get some carbs and sugar in you and try again a few days later.

Can't do it, won't do it.

If I need to cut weight I start drinking water and eating oranges.

My biggest issues is my addiction to Coca-Cola.

40 hours is my tops. It was interesting.

Coming off of it can be a little difficult. Read some shite on the internet about it.
