PULASKI COUNTY (KATV) —
The family of local realtor Beverly Carter, who was kidnapped and murdered, has filed a lawsuit against her employer.
50-year-old Carter was abducted and killedSeptember 2014 while showing a home.
Court documents show Carter's husband and two sons filed a complaint against Crye-Leike claiming negligence by the company resulting in a wrongful death.
They are asking for compensatory damages and loss of life damages.
I don't agree with this lawsuit.

Well there's zero detail here but I would assume it's the realtor's (person, not company) job to assess clients and accept the risk of going alone with them to show a home.

I tend to agree but it's hard to know without the details of the case. For instance if it was her employer, Crye-Leike, that handled the interface with the prospective shady buyer and they specifically sent Carter to meet with that buyer I can see where negligence might be in play if there were obvious clues that the buyer was not legit.
But from the brief description in the AP article, it doesn't sound like that was the case.

Horrific crime. I knew her son through the arts, good kid and family.

There's not enough information in the article to know if it's legitimate or not.
The fact that it was filed three years later leads me to believe they recently found out something (maybe at trial?) that gives the appearance of Crye-Leike's negligence.
