So Mexico is looking for El Chapo. Does he go north or south and try to cross one of the borders?

Do they take him alive?

Could he lose himself in the U.S. with his cash and resources?

I'm sure he can. That's what I would do if I was that wanted. Go to a big urban center, work a shitty job, and blend it. The Fugitive method.

If the current administration would untie some hands we could have this guy in under 2 months. Might resemble Bad Boys 2 though.

He ran his organization while on the run for years as the world's most wanted man. I dunno why he'd do anything other than that. He's the king, and all he knows how to do is king shite..

I believe he has arrest warrants here in the US. The US was trying to get mexico to send him here because they knew their prisons are shite.

But he is going to stay in Mexico, its the safest place for him, he owns towns, governments, coops, etc...

He could be the manager at a Jalisco in Oneida, TN and nobody would ever have a clue who he was.

He has more $$ and organizational support than Bin Laden. The only reason he got caught last time is because he still does what he wants to, even as the tier 1 drug man..

He's got a laundry list of charges here. If we ever were allowed to apprehend him, he'd spend the rest of his days in isolation in a super max.

If that's true and he has ... then he's done for. Mexicans, central and south Americans ... you can be an evil sonuvabitch cutting off heads and killing everything in sight.

But you cannot threaten to kill, or kill, their corrupt politicians, prosecutors or heads of military or they will turn on you. It disrupts their sense of stability.

One of the best books on taking down a drug kingpin is Killing Pablo. If you want to know how hard it is to kill one of these roaches it is the book for you.

I actually just finished this book. Great read.

It will be hard to find him for sure. One thing Pablo had going for him was his ability to remain cool and calm under immense pressure.

His downfall was that he pissed too many people off, which ushered in the formation of Los Pepes who weren't afraid to play as dirty as him, and the Search Bloc/Centra Spike didn't hesitate to turn a blind eye.

I don't know too much about El Chapo's persona. He obviously is pretty bold threatening Trump via Twitter. Dumb move, by the way.

Trump knows enough tough guys in NYC that El Chapo doesn't want to get in a pissing contest.

I've read the book, saw the documentary ... knew/know one of the guys involved, key players, very well. He and I worked in Central and South America together in the late eighties.

I agree, at that time it was incredibly difficult for a lot of reasons, many of which are still in play. But they learned a lot from that manhunt and besides, I'm not altogether convinced the FBI and CIA are as involved in this hunt as they were that one.

There are some parallels though, I agree Herman. And it was a good book. You know the picture they opened with, in the office ...

Yep, one of the most underrated areas in the southern Appalachians.
