Recall on ALL products. Wikipedia says 20 percent of all people infected with Listeria die. Not good

I got Listeria a while back, and it's absolutely miserable. I don't think I've ever felt that terrible.

And I have to imagine that considering young kids typically eat ice cream, that makes it particularly dangerous.

Early last week, the grocer of someone I know called him at home to warn him about the ice cream. He had used his Kroger card when he bought, and apparently I guess that means the DO track your purchases to your membership card. He had bought BB Ice Cream.

Had it this weekend with the kids. No regrets.

MaInly because there was a big sign that said that all ice cream from that factory was thrown out and this is from one that wasn't affected.

Listeria occurs naturally in ponds and other bodies of water. I wonder if Blue Bell used unpasteurized milk in their ice cream making process?

I wonder if Blue Bell will ever fully recover from this. Anybody remember Jack In The Box? They went into hiding and closed MANY of their stores after all those kids died. I've only started seeing commercials for them again in the past 4-5 years.

I think Blue Bell will be fine. It's a good product with a rabid following.

Jack in the box is drunk or crap-nothing-else-is-around-here food.

I blame Blue Bell for the Aggies weekend in Baseball.

No one suspected the infection came from ice cream until four strains of listeria monocytogenes were found in Blue Bell products last month by the South Carolina Health Department.

Damn that's not good PR for them. What's that now, twice in 3 months? It's my favorite ice cream of all time but frick getting Listeria. I had a cousin who got that when I was a kid and pure hell is a nice way of putting it if you were to ask him about it.

I know they they went thru the Brenham plant from top to bottom just to be sure. I'll still buy it.

I wouldn't say I won't ever buy it again, but I probably won't buy it for 6 months or so, just to see how this plays out. There are other brands I like and I don't eat a lot of ice cream anyways.

Hopefully they'll discount all their ice cream, would be time to stock up.

Frick me gosh damn it son of beech motherfricker

For the first time in my life, I found a gallon of Peanut Butter Crunch in my town last month and bought it as a reward after Lent. I have yet to crack into it and now I have to toss it.

If you've never tasted the creamy, sweet goodness that is Blue Bell's Peanut Butter Crunch, you're just not living right.
