For the ot posters who have graduated from college. Do you have regrets about the major or degree you chose?

If so do you wish you'd majored in something with better pay? Or vice versa do you wish you'd done less work and had more fun in college?

Nope. Majored in marketing at Mays Business School at A&M. Enjoyed the major a ton, and appreciate it more now that I actually work in a civilian (inside) sales job.

Yes, but for pay purposes, but ease of finding a job. Although my degree has served me well.

To add context I used to be a CS and math double major, but I recently dropped out of the CS program. The thing is I was good at it: A- or above in every class. I just got sick of working most of the time (I have a job too), and I didn't enjoy the classes either.

Yes and No, I majored in something I loved but doesn't even apply to the area of work I'm in atm. At the end of the day, I don't think it is going to effect me much so its not something I worry about.

Yes. I should have skipped a 4 year degree and been a welder.

If I were to go back to college, I should have majored in sales and/or marketing and gone into one of those fields. I scare myself sometimes at how well I can market and sell an issue or a solution in my current job.

Probably true. A major in psychology and minor in acting would have been better.

Depends on the school and the type of sales, tbh.

i majored in mechanical engineering but if I could do it over again I think that i might look at doing a major in the agriculture school at Clemson. I could see it being more laid back but lead to a job that still pays ok.

Quantum mechanics. It's the future of the evolution of technology. Even quantum biology is developing as a field of science.

I wish I had majored in industrial engineering.

I'm a doctor. As I get older, most of my professional activities involve people, teams, processes, etc.

I still have clinical duties, but that is the easy part of my day.

If I could do it all over again I would have majored in Botany. It's a growing field (no pun intended).

Yes. 100%.

Major is business management. Hate that I was thinking so narrowly when I was in school.

Social theory.

Or Poli-sci into law.

Or poli-sci, philosophy.

Or anthropology.

Viticulture. Biology.

It is funny how so many people would switch with each other. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Absolutely. I learned far more in my work experience in the field than I did in the classroom, but a degree was the price I had to pay to get capital.

Looking back now, I wish I would have had the same work experiences but opted for a degree in the Classics, History, or Anthropology.

Nope. I've spent over 30 years doing what I got a degree in.

Thought about applying to Med school...decided to get married and enter the workforce instead. Wound up getting a couple of graduate degrees. My college roommate, and I were in the same Undergraduate Major and studied together all the time. He is a Thoracic Surgeon now...sometimes I wish I had chosen that path instead.
