Did the catcher deserve to be kicked out of the game?

I hate what people have done to sports and thinking what that kid did was ejection worthy.
All the parents cheering over his ejection is comedy and the umpire should have asked them to leave the baseball complex.

When reading the comments, several said the kid was being a smartass to the ump. I can't turn the speakers up right now and listen.

You know what, I missed it the first time, but the kid turned to the ump and pointed at him with the ball and said something. I was wrong in my first assessment it seems.
shite now I have been wrong 5 times in my life.

The parents cheering are just butt hurt because they lost.
The Ump is a dick because the catcher did nothing wrong to warrant the ejection.
Good move by the director to reinstate the catcher for the next game but showed poor form by not reinstating the coaches.

I believe he told the ump his daughter was a shitty lay

Seems like the catcher might have been trying to show up the ump.
Showing the ball on a swinging third strike is common but the catcher's "got that one" comment that I hear seems to indicate that he disagreed with an umps previous call and was again bringing it up.
Or maybe there is a rule against taunting and the ump perceived the catcher to be taunting the batter.
Or maybe the catcher used profanity and thats an automatic ejection.
Or maybe there is even a rule against celebration.
Hard to say from that clip what all went into the umps decision to toss the catcher. Maybe it was just a shitty decision on his part.
eta- I do agree the parents cheering the dismissal is trashy as frick but some of them probably thought that meant the game would go on.

It was a strike 3 that ended the game. The game was over, why did the ump even bother

Did I hear one the coaches say "frick your kid"?

After re-watching it with the volume up, the ump is a POS. He's a pussy who probably got picked on as a kid. This is his way of getting back at the world. Nothing that catcher did was worth being tossed over.

Kid was either showing up the UMP or someone in the stands. Good for the UMP and shame on those coaches for not teaching the kid to play the right way. I like that baseball isn't a trash talk sport but I am sure it will be one day because all the others pretty much are.

Im going to need some context. All I could see was the catcher point at the ump. I didn't hear him say anything so I don't know the intention of the point.
That point could range from a "frick you ump" to a "good game"
Back in my days as a catcher I had subtle ways to punish an ump that was being inconsistent as hell but most of the time catchers try to buddie up with the ump to get some leeway. There's kind of a understanding not to show him up because it's very easy for the catcher to make him look bad.
Also, what's with the Wrigley Field backdrop? I can't decide if that's awesome or lame.

That 3rd strike was low and away. Catcher caught the ball then quickly turned to show the ump that he caught the ball. Had the catcher dropped the ball or had the ball passed the catcher, the batter could attempt to go to 1b since that base was unoccupied.
So imo that's why the catcher briefly turned to show the ump he had the ball and made a clean catch.
As to what happened prior to all that, I haven't a clue. But I do know that most of the Super NIT umps think they're just a phone call away from being pulled up to the Majors....which in fact, calling NIT tournament games will be as good as it gets for them. Alot of the umpires aren't good enough to call Jr high games or even HS games muchless NIT tournaments.

What did I miss? All I saw him do was show the ball to the umpire?

If this is what happened then the Ump is way out of line, but it looks to me like the catcher said something.

Any sport is a trash talk sport.
I'd bet my anal virginity on that.
