For me:

Homemade on charcoal grill
1/2 lb patty
(Don't flatten it)
Medium well
2 strips bacon, pan-fried
Extra sharp cheddar cheese
Hickory BBQ sauce (just a thin layer)
Sauteed onions
Sauteed mushrooms
2 large pieces of lettuce (iceberg, romaine, I don't care. Just no shredded bullshite)
Very lightly toasted sesame seed bun

You'll be back later for the tomato debate.

I like tomatoes, but not on a burger. Too acidic and overpowering.

The only thing worse than cheddar cheese is American cheese.

None of this

Mustard and ketchup, on a toasted Hawaiian sweet bun.

Depends on the variety and cut.

On your next cheeseburger you must try this. Fresh Fuji apple slices.

You're welcome.

Double Whataburger with bacon, grilled onions, tomatoes, pickles, jalapeños and mayonnaise.

Served by my naked wife.

I'm pretty easy to please to be honest.

Minus the mayonnaise, I would gladly eat any of these burgers.

Although a burger less than medium gets really gooey and gummy. And I'm a guy who eats all his steaks rare.

I made burgers last weekend. Used an imported Irish cheddar infused with whiskey. That was an excellent choice.

1/3 pound burger cooked in a Dutch oven with onions, jalepenos, and seasonings. Butter some bread and put on the griddle, and then add the burgers. Top with some fresh grated sharp cheddar, and then put the other slice of bread on top. Homemade patty melts are awesome.

Just to add...salt, black pepper, and a few pinches of fresh cloves in the patty mixture.

Clove makes beef even more awesome.

Grindhouse isn't half bad either.

One thing that Atlanta has no shortage of is good burgers.
