The post below was posted on the SECrOT by Deltaland on 09/22/15. In light of news that China is sending a naval ship and troops to Syria, Deltaland's post is becoming more prophetic.

quote:

The terrorist groups are just a tool we use we control the region. It's all about money...follow the money.

The current proxy war with Assad and the rebels is all about who controls the supply of oil and gas to Europe. It's what the Iran deal was about. It's why Russia is backing Assad and we want him out. It's why the EU supported the Iran deal. The EU wants out from under Russian control of their gas supply. Russia can't lose that customer, and they want to build a pipeline under their control from Iran through Iraq through Syria and continue to supply Europe via this "Islamic Pipeline" added to their South stream and Nubucco pipeline.

The US wants to build a pipeline from Qatar through Israel and Turkey to the EU. We want a regime change in Syria to make sure Russian can't get their new pipeline, or moreso we would like to have that pipeline from Iran also. It's why we destabilized Iraq...so we could stabilize it with our own chosen leaders when the time is right...after we topple Assad and take over Syria and "defeat" ISIS. Then we have control over the entire ME region and the pipelines to Europe, and Russia is cut completely out of the deal. Originally we just wanted to build the Quatar pipeline that would have destroyed Russia, Iraq, Iran economically by freeing Turkey from Iranian gas and EU from Russian gas. But I think we made a different play to frick Russia even more...and that was we decided to to take the Islamic pipeline also and give Iran a lifeline. (remember Iran and Russia have been somewhat allies)

Now forward to the Iran nuclear deal...it lifts sanctions on Iran to where they can export oil and gas. Now Iran is "fighting" ISIS in Iraq...why might that be? So they can gain control of the region to build this pipeline, at which point whichever side wins in Syria (Russia or the US) will get control of and thus reap rewards. Iran doesn't care who wins, they just want the money. Russia's last play is to keep Assad in power, and who knows how far they will go to do so.

It's not about terrorism, we support and aid these groups to destabilize the regions and put our own people in power to control energy. We know damn well we have the power to stop it if we need to. They are simply pawns in our game that are driven by their own religious propaganda that we and their leaders intentionally fuel to create chaos.

The problem with this chaos, is this is how world wars are started because it's a power play. It threatens Russia's entire existence as the world's 2nd largest superpower (militarily) and they are already on economic life support. The US is sitting on massive oil and gas reserves here at home..if we take control of all of the O&G in the middle east, we control most of the energy in the developed world and that gives us and our allies in Europe basically unlimited power. Countries like Russia and China fear this, because the move would allow us to destroy China's manufacturing by jacking up energy costs and keeping costs low on the Western side, while cutting Russia out of the energy business almost entirely.

This is why Russia inked a huge 400 billion dollar gas deal with China back in May 2015 via a Siberian Power gas line set to come online in 2018. They are trying to keep the gas flowing, and if they lose this proxy battle China will be their only avenue to stay relevant.

Good job, Deltaland.

I honestly see it more like the 1930s, but the observation's still valid.

funny how much conservatives say this to how little they actually believe it. I know you don't really believe this, you know you don't really believe this. But people say it all the time and get away with it. Just stop please.

Very interesting, I had the pleasure of attending some meetings at the EU several years ago and the main geopolitical concern was Russia's energy stranglehold

Yea, and I think our plan backfired. We lifted sanctions on Iran hoping we could establish diplomacy and work with them rather than they work with Russia, in a deal that could benefit both the US and Iran's interests.

We were played like fools and Iran, Russia, and China are now making their moves. They are pushing to control Syria and Iraq so they can build their pipeline and have massive amounts of gas and oil under their control.

Russia, China, and India have inked deals to form their own currency to get rid of the petrodollar. To do this, they have to control the oil/gas first and build up their economies.

This is going to end badly, unfortunately.

Wow, nicely done Delta (unfortunately)

I wasn't too opposed to the Iran deal, but this is an interesting take on the matter that definitely has some substance to it
