Computer Geeks, Cellphones are confusing to me.

Just got a new cell phone from Radioshack. I've finally made the leap from the Apple IPhone to the Droid universe (it has the little green alien as its logo). The phone I got was a Galaxy S5.
Went and saw Shelby and show him my new phone. I tell him, "I got a Droid phone. It's a Galaxy S5". He says that I don't. He says that the S5 is not a Droid, despite the FACT that the lady at Radioshack said that the phone uses Droid or something whereas the IPhone doesn't.
Also, is there a way that I can use my new phone to hack people's garage door openers? For fun. I want to become a white cap hacker.

Your phone runs an Android software but it is not the physical phone called Droid from Motorola. Confusing for everybody

I decided to go the Droid route because Iphones have gotten too complicated to use lately. I just want a phone where I can call, text, facebook, and possibly remote open people's garage doors.
