And yet you remain anti-abortion and anti-eugenics.

Meh. You don't really need to eat endangered animals, IMO.

Well, no. You don't.

Trophy hunting is important tourism to some of these shite-hole African countries. I find trophy-hunting to be in poor taste. The idea that this is international news is pathetic.

The PP video I watched today viscerally revolted me, and I used to ride the fence on abortion. Not anymore.

I give few fricks about some lion in some shitty country that declared open-season on white farmers not that long ago. I literally give zero fricks about it. I don't understand how simple you have to be to be caught up in the outrage mob these days. Signal that your virtues are the "right ones!" if it makes you feel better.

Parade?

No hence the point of my entire post. The response is not disproportionate response about killing the guys and hoping his business, and by default his family hurt, because he hunted and killed (happy Kentucker? KILLED) an animal.

Do you despise deer hunters? What about cattle farmers?

I mean I get the hate for the Twitter mob, but I don't follow randos on Twitter, or actually read subtweets, as I don't care about what most people say, much less people I don't know... so a lot of it is lost on me. Yes, overzealous outrage is annoying, but I don't actually see it that much, so it doesn't get to me. Most people complain about personalities and blowhards on ESPN and things like that, but I usually just listen to the Ticket so I don't see much.

Okay, okay! Maybe I was wrong thinking you'll progress to killing prostitutes and then cutting out their vaginas as your trophies.

I always think this is a ridiculous and condescending argument. Endangered animals are different than deer, ducks, hogs, chickens and cows.

There are pretty much just a few basic concepts in order to hunt.

You can bring the animal to you
You can wait for the animal to walk by its natural path
You can track follow to its grounds

I havent seen all the exact details of this but was there a fence or something restricting the lion from going out of the park? probably not

Do you have a problem with fishermen? They lure fish to a nice shinny hook and many have them memorialized on their wall

If they do it in a fish preserve, you're damn right I do. These fricktards went into a protected area found this lion then tied bait to their vehicle and lured him out of the protected area to shoot him I'm sorry there is absolutely nothing sporting or ethical about that.

Eta: I have no issues with killing for sport (I don't do it) but I do have an issue with the way they went about this hunt.

Tell us a little bit about your feelings first. It seems uncouth to just come barging into the thread that way.

How do you feel about hunting in general? How about trophy hunting? Commercial fishing? Fish farms? Hog farms? Farms in general? Horse farms? Sheep farms? Cattle farms?

That lion was 13 years old has anyone considered the possibility of suicide?

Maybe dude just wanted to go out while he was still on top any way you look it beats getting tossed out and watching another lion bang your hens while you slowly starve to death.

Now he's a martyr forever....

I feel that hunting unleashes the natural instinct in human behavior. Survival of the fittest. I don't agree with trophy hunting endangered/borderline endangered animals, but there's certainly nothing wrong with hunting overpopulated animals for sport.

I am an avid supporter of cattle and hog farms. Things could be done to make the process more humane, but as a whole, I see no problem with it.

My anger peaks when people defend the "sport" of hunting. What's sporting about killing something that can't fight back?

"Hunting is not a sport. In a sport, both sides should know they're in the game." - Paul Rodriguez

Why not call it what it actually is? Some people take pleasure in killing.

Some populations in the world still have to hunt for sustenance but, by and large, humans don't have to depend on wild animals to survive.

And trophy hunting? What's the difference between that and a serial killer taking trophies when he kills people? Isn't the only difference being that one is legal and the other is not?

I dont believe in hunting predators or game for sport, but whats the difference between eating the meat from a cow that came from a ranch and eating meat that came from a wild abundant source like deer. Both animals had to die to get on your plate. You are leaving some gaping holes in your argument. You should have stayed on point with your argument about the Lion. You were okay there.
