I have been hearing bad things about the engines wearing out at 1 hundred thousand miles.Word is the 5w 20 oil is too thin.I got 68k on mine and can't afford any problems.Thinking about switching to 5w 30.Any thoughts?

115k on my 5.4L. just got the plugs changed.

transmission kicks back sometimes if I let off the gas after a mild acceleration, other than that no issues

I recently locked up a 5.4 in a F-250 haven't torn it down yet, but I am pretty sure it dropped a valve.

it had 160,00 miles on it, I was using 20w 50 in it I think...I was pulling a skid steer over a mountain when it happened though.

I have a 2010 f150 and have no idea what kind of engine I have.

It is the best truck in the world and I will cry when I have to get rid of it.

I have a 2003 5.4L and have used 5w30 and haven't had engine problems at 130k miles. Alignment and wheel problems on the other hand....

I had a wheel bearing shave off on the way back from Thanksgiving. That was awesome.

I have the same thing and I love it. That said, lately it keeps shuttering like it is in 4WD. Need to take it in but I am worried they'll just make up some shite to charge me for but I guess if I wait I will have my transmission on the freeway soon.

125k on mine and runs like a dream. It's got that cam phaser tick which is annoying but I can live with it.

I have an 07 model with 130k miles. The engine doesn't have any problems but I recently changed the plugs and started having issues. The plugs I got were bad and I can smell gas inside the engine compartment while idling. I have changed one already and have to change at least one more. They are too damn expensive to keep changing like that.

That shudder might be a universal joint going out, when does it happen? when you let off the gas?

I have two, a 2007 and a 2010. 2007 has 70K and 2010 has 120K. No problems with either.
