Does anyone know of any good places to rent a cabin in the mountains in TN? My girlfriend and I were looking near Gatlinburg, but I was wondering if there was anything a little cheaper. It'll be during Auburn's fall break.

TIA!

Tennessee fricking sucks, why not just stay in northern Alabama? I heard the cabins there are way cooler.

Townsend is much quieter and closer to the national park. Just a cool place and not far from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

Definitely a much more laid back place than Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Good place to relax after spending a day in those two congested towns.

Can't imagine any place cheaper than Gatlinburg. Maybe look at ones without the heart shaped tub?

Thanks for the tips!! I live in North Alabama, so staying there wouldn't be very new and exciting for us. Ill look into Chattanooga and Townsend though. I was originally thinking of goin after the au-kentucky game, but it would probably be too late by that time

Townsend or Walland for peace and quiet. You'll need to realize that you won't get any of the amenities that Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer as far as the touristy things to do though. At the same time, a lot of people don't want to feel like they're at the Panama City Beach of the mountains. I know I don't.

I was there a few weeks ago. We stayed toward townsend about 4 miles from Pigeon Forge in a Cabin. I forgot what website we used but it has a ton of cabins you can choose from. I think we paid around 200 a night for 10 or so folks.

North Carolina has cool spots too. They have a lot of beer over there too! Would definitely be worth a look.

The north Georgia mountains are great that time of year. I'm not sure when your fall break is but if you're going in October then you're going to be paying a lot more for that month.

I'd forget renting a cabin or chalet and instead book a nice bed and breakfast somewhere.

Does it have to be that area for a particular reason or is there a radius around a specific town or city to work with?

I mean there is Johnson City, TN along with Townsend and Maryville/Alcoa, Madisonville, Tellico Plains, Athens, Cleveland, Etowah Ducktown ... I mean there are all kinds of options.

I'm partial to Johnson City because we have a second home there but there are so many option from central to eastern Tennessee.
