Mirra was unbelievable in some of the stuff he was able to do on a bike. I know that these guys take a ton of shots to the head when the miss landings. This could be another area where CTE is prominent. I know a lot of guys who made the transition from BMX to Freestyle in the late 80's and early 90's. Guys like Mirra were ground breakers.
