i think the over whelming proportion of society does not take The BPP seriously but also, it's kinda what people have come to expect.
After the deaths, the Families forgave and people mourned in unification. Insert politicians, the media, and professional race baiters - now the pot is beginning to simmer.

Inciting people to terrorism, and not a single frick will be given.

Local news is running the story. The Charleston community has told the Black Panthers to get the frick out. The National Action network held a press conference and told them what.

Doesn't fit the narrative. Nothing to see here. Move along.

been super impressed and proud of that community. They took a true act of hate, and have done nothing but shown love to one another.

It's hard not to be impressed. Charleston has shown the true nature of southerners.

They really have. Other cities should take note.

Charleston also happens to be one of the coolest places in the US so I'm not too surprised. Atlanta could not possibly follow suit

This is the part that truly pisses me off.
This could have been a moment that unify everyone towards a common goal. But that wouldn't be good for the media/race-baiter/politician business, so they've got to inject poison so they can get their 15 minutes. Never let a crisis go to waste, they say.
I wish someone would have the balls to stand up and call them out on it

100% agree but how?
No media outlet is going to give you a platform to bash them.

It's amazing how the South is usually portrayed as being distinctly divided along racial lines, and then when something like this happens the old, time worn media meme falls flat on its face.
Contrast what occurred in Charleston, SC and the reaction to it, with what occurred in Ferguson, MO and the reaction that is still occurring there.

I'll say this. The south has its racist a-holes.
Plenty of them.
Maybe more than anywhere else in the nation. But i think you'd be hardpressed to find a place where multiculture thrives like it does here and you have more of a community that doesn't draw lines between the races in everyday community. Compare that to a lot of places in the northeast where there is very plain white and black communities that are plainly laid out.
While we're* going to have our idiots, we're also going to police ourselves a lot better to make sure that crap doesn't fester. the BP party isn't going to make a big play down here, because they're trying to get people to do violence and stir up anger against people they work, go to church, and live life with. when we're as mixed in as the south is, it's a little harder to get people to hate a face they know they doesn't hate them. Little easier in other areas where there isn't really that interaction. Maybe in Florida or Atlanta, but i just don't ever see there being full blown Ferguson or Baltimore incidents.
*i know i'm a Texan and we're not "the south," but i identify with that culture more than the southwest or plains/midwest area. so when i say "we," that's just who i call my people.

Sometimes, freedom of speech may not be such a good thing. The double standards in this country and by the media are so obvious it's mind boggling.

frick the BPP, bunch of shite stirring cocksuckers.
Props to Charleston for handling this awful business with grace and diginity. The country could learn from the acts of those directly affected by this monstrous act.

I see your point, but this isn't a good comparison. In Charleston, 9 innocent people were murdered in cold blood, in their church, after sitting in a prayer meeting for an hour with the evil racist who killed them. Tragic, all the way around, and there really isn't another side to it. In Ferguson, a white cop killed a young black man who had just robbed a convenience store. There was controversy over the facts of the shooting. You also had the Christian forgiveness of the victims families j. charleston contrasted with the vitriol spewed by Michael Brown's parents. Extremely different in every way.
While ther will always be racist idiots, I can't imagine any place in the US where this kid's actions wouldn't be widely condemned, and the victims universally supported. Maybe I'm naive, but I generally believe the best of 99% of our population.
