Just went to atrox and honestly I was pretty dissapointed. Decently scary but didn't live up to the hype. Anyone else know of any other good places to go in Alabama?

Not for me Sloss is awesome because its a really old structure where hundreds of people died already but it's a cool ambiance

There are a couple really fricked up ones outside of Bham barns of horror I think and they do one in the Corn Maze which is scary anyway at night because you are lost as shite the whole time in the dark

I didn't even know that was still open. We used to hit that after the corn maze.

Meh..... Brighton ftw!

I like Sloss. Drop the kids off and drink beer in the "adult" waiting area.

Is any haunted house really scary?

When I was a kid, sure, but they lost a lot of appeal by the time I was in college.

If you want to be scared in Birmingham then go to Ensley after dark.

This is the 2nd Ensley reference in this thread. I was born in Ensley Highlands. Now, we ran over the mountain with the white flight when I was three.....

I bet a night tour of Caraway Hospital would be fun.

I'm an Ensley gal myself.. Many years ago..
Cry baby bridge (Bayview) was a popular teenage scary date night...
One time our car (5 of us from church in a Chevelle) mysteriously quit on us while crossing the bridge..
My heart has never beat that fast ever. I lost a few moments of my life that night...I've never forgotten it!

Is that the "Cry Baby Bridge" in Vestavia, or is there just a cry baby bridge in everywhere?
I never heard any crying there. The only things that ever happened were I got stoned and my fingers got all fishy smelling.

Sloss is only cool because it's a historic site where a lot of people died and is actually haunted.
It wasn't scary as a haunted house, but I always think those things are stupid. Our women got scared though, I think.
One actor who I assumed was a 17/18 yr old girl and high on adderall kept following my group and being a bitch and eventually tried to start a fight with the girls in our group. Security ended up escorting the actor out instead of our girls, saying they had been having problems with her.
The best parts were the slide they had at the end and the hand-dipped corndogs.

There's a crybaby bridge on 280 too behind the Home Depot. Don't think you can get on it anymore. Then they developed Mad Dog and ran off the devil worshipers. Just can't have anything nice anymore.

It was probably just the wind, but I swear I heard something?
Strange lights reflected off the water too...
