2. Possibly (if you wanted them to win so we still have slavery, and not for the other multiple reasons the war was fought)

Yeah I was thinking 2 might. But honestly it depends on why you're frustrated. Do you wish slavery was still around because you don't like black people? Or are you frustrated because you just have pride in your heritage and how scrappy the south was/is?

1. Yes/No - I don't think it is singularly representative of slavery but everyone I've ever known that wore CF apparel was a racist.
2. No - as a child, you are less likely to understand what the south losing connotes and how it affected the country.
3. No
4. No - being resentful of your lineage is retarded, see Ben Affleck.

I wouldn't say racist, but I find the attachment to it by some strange. I think some display it just to troll people. I'll defend your right to display it though if that's how you wish to express yourself.

I think one can detest the institution of slavery while also being sympathetic to state's rights and a small federal government.

Again, not racist. He was adamant about defending Virginia first. People need to realize there was a different mindset then in terms of states vs. federal government. Not everyone that fought for the south believed in the institution of slavery, just as everyone that fought for the north didn't believe in abolition.

I always find taking pride in things others did to be a strange concept, but I see nothing wrong with remembering what they did and how you came to be.

They are all racist in the slanted view of liberal progressives.

Racist? No, those items aren't racist. Will some people try to figure out how to claim they are racist? Yes. All day.

1. Yes. Easily.
2. Yes, it was fought over slavery
3. Yes
4. Yes, being proud of ancestors who fought to keep slaves is racist
Heritage not hate? The heritage was BUILT on hate.

Well none of my ancestors who fought for the south owned slaves. They weren't very wealthy. So explain to me how they fought to preserve something they didn't really benefit from? They owned their own land and worked it. They weren't big time.

Define hate also. Did the south enslave out of hate or economic necessity? The more the north screwed the south over, the more slavery was needed. The north only took the moral high ground after the south got fed up with their crap. Slavery was a horrible institution but it was a different time but don't act like the north would have been opposed to it if they had the same climate and economy as the south.

Um, it doesn't matter what way you spin it, slavery is never okay. Doesn't matter if it's needed or economically necessary. The way slaves were traded, treated, and used as property is hatred. What else would you call it?
Your ancestors fought a war over slavery, whether they owned slaves or not. Don't be proud of that.

The principle of laying down your life for what you believe in is noble and honorable. I have a lot of respect for German soldiers who fought and died on the banks of the Rhine to stop a foreign army from invading their homeland. Given the same situation, I would die the same way that they did.
Standing up for a cause isn't a problem to be ashamed of. It's refusing to speak or act on your own behalf that portends the failure of a civilization.

Yep. Not sure why people can't see this. I guess they don't want to.

1. The flag itself? No. Most of the people that display it? Yes.
2. Depends on why you are frustrated.
3. Possibly. Great military mind? Yes. Hero? I wouldn't go that far.
4. Depends on why they fought.

1. No
2. No, but stupid to believe
3. No
4. No
The problem is that people don't understand what "racist" even means anymore. Of course, the use of the Rebel Flag can be racist in situations, but the flag itself is not.
Racism is treating people of a different race inferiorly on the mere fact of their race.
What the left is trying to do is very Orwellian. When you broaden the definition of words, these words lose meaning. Once a word has lost meaning, you lose complex thought. It's identical to double-speak. It's a tactic to suppress thought
