I'm not talking about a cruise I mean like on a motor yacht or a houseboat

I've been in probably a dozen in my life and am on one right now from pickwick, TN down to Orange Beach and then on over to Bradenton, Fl (near Tampa). I've always really enjoyed them idk what it is about them that I like so much but I'm real interested in river systems and how they drain and locks and how they operate and all that so getting to see it all in person is pretty cool. Just wonder how common it is for ppl to do this kind of stuff

And yes, that was an awesome run on sentence I agree

Done a few overnight deep sea fishing trips. My late Grandfather lived on a houseboat in St Andrews Bay for several years. He was awesome.

My dad owned two house boats. One was your standard Lake Lanier houseboat with the flat bottom. The other was more of an ocean boat with a tall V-hull to cut the waves of the ocean. I'm not much of an ocean guy, but I do love taking river trips. Is there someone offering commercial river cruises here in the states? I know Europe has them.

There are quite a few

These guys have a lot that look fun.

I also have a former coworker that takes his family on a week long houseboat cruise up the St. Johns river every year.

Wow! That a trip. I've made a trip from Montgomery to Mobile and back and that was exhausting. Of course this is in a 21ft center console. When you reach Demopolis on the high bluff, you will be in my neck of the woods. Here is a little reading material I'll link to pass the time. Demopolis lies where the Black Warrior and Tombigbee rivers meet. LINK
LINK
Muabila. You will pass this historic site somewhere on the river but the actual location is still unknown to this day. LINK
Vine and Olive colony in Demopolis. LINK
Black belt region of Alabama. LINK )
As you travel further down river before the Tombigee joins the Alabma river. LINK

It is ~440 miles from where we started (Pickwick Lake, Iuka MS) to Mobile.

I think it's around 385 from Montgomery

I have boated the Tenn-Tom waterway from Pickwick to Demopolis. The family has a lake house on the Aliceville Pool.

I have also considered riding my jet ski from the lake house to my sisters house in Gulf Shores
I have looked at my maps and as you near Mobile Bay the river channel looks kind confusing. Jumping the wake of freight ship might be cool or deadly. Not sure

Seen more cotton in the top of a fricking aspirin bottle.
